The Sheriff Country premiere featured a Fire Country crossover in a very touching scene involving Bode (Max Thieriot).
Unlike in the Fire Country episodes that helped launch Sheriff Country, Bode wasn't helping Mickey (Morena Baccarin) with a case. This time, Bode didn't even cross paths with Mickey but instead helped her daughter.

Early in the episode, Sheriff Country fans learn that Mickey doesn't trust Skye (Amanda Arcuri) after her stints in rehab. It turns out Mickey has good reason to be worried because Skye's boyfriend, Brandon (Charlie Larsen), is up to no good.
Brandon is slipping up with drugs, so Wes (W. Earl Brown), Mickey's criminal father, sets a trap for him. It works, too, but Brandon escapes before Wes can catch him. After learning Brandon stole money from Wes, Skye turns to Bode for advice.
The two meet, and Skye reveals her mom told her to call Bode if she was ever in trouble. Bode knows all too well the struggles of addiction and making not-so-great choices.
Thanks to Brandon, Skye needs Bode's help in more ways than one. Skye admits Brandon stole money from Wes, so she took drugs from him, which she hands over to Bode after confirming she didn't take any.

Bode having the drugs isn't a great thing either, considering his father Vince (Billy Burke) just died, but he takes them for Skye's sake. When Skye reveals she needs to pay Wes back $600, Bode gives her a little bit of cash and some words of wisdom.
Nope, it wasn't a lecture. It was Bode telling her to give the money she has to Wes and then tell him she's good for the rest. The words hit home with Skye, and Sheriff Country fans can easily see a close bond forming between her and Bode.
It was nice to see Bode on Sheriff Country, not as a firefighter but as a member of Skye, Mickey, and Wes' family. The two shows exist in the same universe, so showing more of the family connection on either Fire Country or Sheriff Country is a bonus for all fans.
Sheriff Country airs at 9/8c on CBS.
