Emmy Award-winning producer Ryan Murphy has been married to photographer David Miller since 2012.
Murphy is the creative force behind shows like Glee, American Horror Story, Monster and the upcoming American Love Story. Like his husband, Miller has a background in production but is now a photographer.
The couple met in 2010 and married two years later. Now, they split their time between homes in Los Angeles and New York with their three sons.
"He's the Rock of Gibraltar," Murphy told Vogue in 2012. "Incredibly kind and very wise and not interested in celebrity or money or fame. Just family and love."
He continued, "The very thing I needed at a point in my life when I was like a balloon with no tether. He was like, 'Sit down. Shut the f--- up. You're wrong. Be humble. Be smarter. Stop.' That was David."
So who is Ryan Murphy's husband? Here's everything to know about David Miller and his relationship with the producer.

On his website, Miller describes himself as a freelance photographer based in L.A. and N.Y. who "shoots commercial, editorial and fashion assignments (and his kid's football games)."
In addition to shooting portraits of everyday people across America, Miller has photographed superstars like Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff, and has done editorial work for The Hollywood Reporter, Entertainment Weekly and Architectural Digest.

Before his photography work, Miller spent a decade as a commercial location manager, scouting locations for shoots for companies like Nike, Ford and Toyota. He also collaborated with advertising agencies and production companies.
In 2023, Miller produced the Hulu documentary We Live Here: The Midwest, which examined the lives of LGBTQ+ people working to make their home states safer spaces for their families and queer communities. He has also produced two independent films, Defying Gravity and Em & Me.

"Since being with David, Ryan has just opened his heart up to love so much," Michele, who worked with Murphy on Glee, told Vogue in 2012, just after their wedding. "In the past few months, I have seen such a joy and excitement in Ryan."
She added, "And I just know that deep down they are going to be the most incredible parents. I am incredibly jealous that I am not their daughter. Because the Murphy household would be my dream."

Murphy told Vogue that the pair bonded early on in their relationship over their childhoods and their desire for children of their own.
"We both had really difficult, tumultuous upbringings, and it's ... not a way to heal that ... but definitely a way to explore it," he said. "Also, I thought if I don't do this ... I'm 46 ... I will really, really regret it."

Ryan Murphy, Logan Miller, and David Miller attend the premiere of "The Politician" on September 26, 2019 in New York City.
The couple have welcomed three sons via surrogate. Logan was born on Dec. 24, 2012, while Ford joined the family on Oct. 3, 2014. Murphy and Miller's youngest son, Griffin, was born on Aug. 18, 2020.
"It's so emotional. I'm always so stunned how emotional it is," Murphy shared with PEOPLE in October 2014, just after Ford's birth. "As a gay guy, growing up I never thought I'd have a family. So the fact that I have two children ... that I'm married ... it's very overwhelming for me."

Murphy has been open about a health scare when Ford was an infant, when the baby stopped breathing in the middle of the night due to a previously undiagnosed tracheal issue.
"We called 911. Obviously we were in panic and we were doing CPR and they showed up at 2 a.m. in the morning," Murphy shared during a 9-1-1 panel in 2018, years after the incident. "There were 4 responders. They were incredibly calm and nurturing. They forced me to leave the room. They brought him back to life."
When Ford was 2 years old, he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and had a tumor the size of a tennis ball in his abdomen, according to his dad. Murphy marked the boy's 4th birthday with a post celebrating his improved health and an announcement of a $10 million donation to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
"My better half, David Miller, was a rock through this — strong and patient and loving (I was always a trembling wreck)," Murphy wrote.
"Ford was strong as well, and today he is thriving. He just celebrated his fourth birthday, a milestone we are all so thrilled about. Ford is doing so well because of Children's Hospital Los Angeles," he added.
