Dedication Night on Dancing with the Stars was filled with emotion — both on the dance floor and backstage.
As contestants performed their dances to pay tribute to their family and friends on the Tuesday, Oct. 14 episode of the ABC dance competition, PEOPLE was inside the ballroom to witness all of the moments the camera didn't catch.
Before cameras started rolling, Dennis Quaid was spotting backstage, offering support and words of encouragement to his The Parent Trap costar Elaine Hendrix ahead of her performing a foxtrot to "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" by Natalie Cole with partner, Alan Bersten. The performance was dedicated to her friend and fellow Parent Trap star Lisa Ann Walter, who shared the dance floor with the couple.

Alix Earle was seen walking with her younger sister, Izabel, and introducing her to people backstage ahead of the big show. Izabel, 12, later joined Alix and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, on the dance floor to perform a contemporary dance to "Sparks" by Coldplay.
Robert Irwin's mom Terri and former DWTS pro Sasha Farber also chatted with everyone in the press area.
Also, spotted in the ballroom were Dylan Efron's girlfriend Courtney King, Abbott Elementary's Chris Perfetti, guest judge Kym Johnson-Herjavec's husband and Shark Tank star Robert Herjavec, and former DWTS contestants Marilu Henner and Nick Viall.

After the show, Efron's little sister, Olivia, wouldn't leave his side backstage as Andy Richter's daughter Cornelia was congratulated on her performance and she couldn't get enough.
The Traitors winner's girlfriend was in the ballroom to cheer him on as he was joined by Olivia for a contemporary routine to "Rewrite the Stars" by his brother Zac Efron and Zendaya.

King was spotted waiting for the social media influencer to be done with interviews before the pair shared a hug. They chatted with Efron's partner Daniella Karagach as he rubbed her back.
Karagach and her husband and fellow pro Pasha Pashkov also spent time with Dylan's 4-year-old brother Henry, who showed them his toy truck. They played with the toy together on the ballroom floor.
