Taylor Swift's latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, isn't the only big project the singer was working on in the past year. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Swift confirmed that she'll be releasing a six-part docu-series that will take fans behind the scenes of her epic Eras Tour this December. The show, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The End of an Era, will debut the first two episodes on December 12 on Disney+ and Hulu, with two episodes dropping weekly after that. The series will feature performances, exclusive interviews, and never-before-seen clips of Swift, Travis Kelce, Sabrina Carpenter, and more. Additionally, a companion concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The Final Show, featuring the previously unreleased set from Swift's 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, will premiere on December 12.
You may have heard that Disney+ is about to join the ranks of Apple TV+ and Peacock by raising their subscription rates significantly in the last few months. But don't worry, there are workarounds for all of these increases, so you can watch Taylor without forking over even more money. Disney+ will be raising its prices on Oct. 21, but there are a few ways you can bypass the new Disney+ pricing.
For all the information you need to understand — and avoid — these new price increases, read on, and find out more about Taylor's new projects in the process.
What are the new Disney+ and Hulu price increases?
Starting on Oct. 21, the ad-supported standalone Disney+ plan will increase by $2, rising from $9.99 to $11.99/ month, while Disney+ Premium will increase by $3, jumping up to $18.99 per month. A Disney+ premium annual subscription will increase from $159.99 per year to $189.99 per year.
One way to save? Bundle up, baby! You can either grab an ad-free Disney+/Hulu Premium bundle, which currently costs $19.99/month, or a Disney+/Hulu/ESPN bundle (currently $29.99 for the ad-supported plan and $38.99/month for ad-free); these three options are currently NOT getting rate increases, and if you subscribe now, you can lock in these prices for another year. (Disney+ has created a pretty helpful chart to break down which plans are and aren't getting rate increases.)
Is an annual Disney+ or Hulu plan more cost-effective?
One more way to save on Disney+ and Hulu? If you're a new or lapsed subscriber, you can purchase standalone annual subscriptions now to lock in the current rates for a year. A Disney+ Premium standalone subscription is $159.99 and will increase by $30 on Oct. 21. This is absolutely the best way to get a great price on Disney+ if that's the only plan you want.
An annual Hulu ad-supported plan is $99.99 (and will increase to $119.99 on Oct. 21). This saves you almost 20% compared to a standalone Hulu subscription that's billed monthly and, likewise, is the best deal if Hulu is the only service you want.
You can lock in the current rate of either/both of those plans if you subscribe now, but we have to point out, it's more cost-effective to simply subscribe to the monthly Disney+/Hulu bundle than purchase both annual plans separately if you plan to use both services.
When does Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era premiere?
Taylor Swift's new docu-series, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era, will premiere on Dec. 12 (the day before her birthday, like you didn't already know that). In the meantime, make sure you've locked in today's Disney+ pricing, so you can stream Taylor's other concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), which is out now.

What is a Gemini device?
DirecTV's Gemini streaming device is a device that can be added to any DirecTV plan, and works like a smart TV (or more accurately, like an Amazon Fire Stick) connecting viewers to 4K HD DirecTV programming and streamlining all DirecTV content, including third-party apps like Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, and more, so you can find them all in one place. Gemini devices cost around $10/month on top of your DirecTV Signature package subscription.
