Savannah Guthrie's kids, Vale and Charley, are still young — and she wants to keep them that way for as long as possible.

While speaking to E! News in October 2025, the Today show star revealed that her children won't have their own smartphones for a while.

"My conversation about social media is, 'No,' " she said. "And my conversation about a smartphone is, 'No.' My kids are 8 and 11 — of course they want all of that stuff. And I just want to hold off as long as possible for that."

Guthrie shares her children — whom she welcomed in 2014 and 2016, respectively — with her husband, Michael Feldman. At their wedding ceremony, he pair announced that they were expecting their first child, Vale. But during her pregnancy with Charley, Savannah let her co-workers in on the secret and revealed the news on air.

Reflecting on motherhood in February 2024, Savannah told PEOPLE she felt "so delighted and overjoyed" for her "blessings."

"I'll never get over it," she said of being a mom. "I got to have babies long past the time that anyone would really be hopeful, [and] I had long given up hope." (Savannah gave birth to Vale when she was 42 years old and welcomed Charley after undergoing rounds of in vitro fertilization at the age of 44.)

Here's everything to know about Savannah Guthrie's kids: Vale and Charley.

Savannah and Michael welcomed their first child, daughter Vale Guthrie Feldman, on Aug. 13, 2014.

The couple waited until Vale's arrival to choose her moniker. "We had a few names on the girl list," Savannah told her Today co-anchors a few days after the birth. Of the name Vale, she added, "We thought it was pretty unique, but not kooky or weird."

As for becoming a first-time mom, the broadcast journalist said, "I feel so different. I just feel like life just started. Honestly, I can't get over the joy she brings. It's just inexpressible."

In another segment, the new mom opened up to colleague Hoda Kotb about her first interactions with Vale, including what it was like to bring her home from the hospital.

"I'm like, 'You're just going to let us take her home. Was there any kind of manual?' " she quipped. "But those moments I can remember being cheek-to-cheek, the tears rolling down and just having a little conversation with her like, 'I'm always going to love you. I'm always going to protect you. I'm always going to be your mommy.' "

While Savannah shared on the PEOPLE Every Day podcast in January 2023 that she doesn't like to "embrace" the word "famous" around her children, Vale has already made it known that she wants a career in the spotlight.

"My daughter actually ... wants to be an actress," the broadcast journalist shared. "But I always say, 'Honey, talent plus hard work can't be beat ... Just keep at it. I think you're so talented. I think you're amazing, bringing the hard work.' "

More recently, the mother-daughter pair traveled to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. A few months later, they attended Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Miami alongside Kotb and her daughters, as well as Jenna Bush Hager and her children.

For her 10th birthday in August 2024, Michael posted a tribute to Vale. "10 years ago today, this little girl burst into the world and hasn't stopped making us laugh, love and appreciate her pure joy," he wrote on Instagram.

A month later, Savannah celebrated National Daughters Day with a carousel of photos featuring Vale.

Savannah and Michael welcomed their son Charles "Charley" Max Guthrie Feldman on Dec. 8, 2016.

Savannah admitted to PEOPLE in March 2017 that she was "superstitious" about welcoming a second child and "didn't want to jinx it" because of her age, but once Charley arrived, her fears were assuaged. The new baby arrived safely and turned out to be a "super chill little dude," as Savannah told PEOPLE in 2017.

"I knew it was the winning lottery ticket to have one child — I was 42 when I had [Vale]. So I never dreamed that I would have two," she told Health in May 2019. "But with Charley, I did do IVF. So I would say Vale was a miracle, and Charley was a medical miracle."

The mom of two shared that it was "important" for Vale to have a sibling and "somebody to do life with." Savannah also touched on her journey with IVF, which "ended up taking more than one attempt."

Now, Charley is starting to follow in his mom's footsteps: In June 2024, he surprised Savannah on set and even helped out during an on-air segment.

Because of their moments spent together, Charley views his mom's co-workers, including Al Roker, like family. Following the Paris Olympics, "Uncle Al" made Charley's "dream come true" when he introduced him to basketball legend LeBron James.

In a December 2023 birthday post on Instagram, Savannah called Charley a "little firecracker who lights up my heart."

As for the type of mother Savannah aims to be for Vale and Charley, she wants to strike a balance. "I want to be both the mom I wished I had, and the mom I had," she said during a 2024 Mother's Day special on Today.

"I think our job as moms is to be just rock solid," Savannah continued. "I'm here and I'm for you. You can count on that. You can take that to the bank. You might be mad at me. That's fine. I'll still be here and I'll still be for you and on your side."
