[Week 5 Sunday schedule | Live blog]

The Week 5 afternoon slate has a couple of big matchups between teams looking to separate from the pack. With six games in the early afternoon portion of the day and four in the late window, it should be an action-filled day of NFL football.

In a matchup of teams needing a big win, the Dallas Cowboys visit the New York Jets for an early afternoon tilt on FOX. Dallas is coming off a thrilling 40-40 tied game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4, and seeking their second win of the season to keep pace in the NFC East. The Jets have dropped the first four games of 2025 and simply need a win. This could be the Jets' best opportunity offensively to run up some points against the worst defense in total yards per game (420.5) and the second-worst in scoring defense, allowing 33 points per game.

Some of the games on the Sunday afternoon slate this week include Las Vegas visiting Indianapolis, Dallas in New York against the Jets, the New York Giants on the road in New Orleans, Miami at Carolina, Houston at Baltimore and the biggest game in the early afternoon window features Denver in Philadelphia looking to knock off the undefeated Eagles.

However, the headliner on this Sunday afternoon kicks off at 3:05 p.m. ET between two 3-1 franchises jockeying for position in the NFC, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Seattle Seahawks. Tampa Bay and Seattle represent two of the five teams sitting at 3-1, looking up at the Eagles, trying to keep pace in the conference.

Rounding out the afternoon in the late window for Week 5 will be Tennessee at Arizona, Detroit in Cincinnati, taking on the Bengals, and Washington visiting the West Coast to face the Los Angeles Chargers. It's Week 5, and the NFL is down to its final two undefeated teams in the Eagles and Buffalo Bills.

Week 5 also represents the first week of byes with four teams not in action. The Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers are all off for Week 5.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers second-year running back Bucky Irving is out for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks with shoulder and foot injuries, and the team does not expect him to be available for Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers either.

Turns out that Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving's shoulder injury, which he did not report to the team until Tuesday last week, is more of an issue than his sprained foot, per sources. Irving is dealing with a shoulder subluxation that is expected to sideline him at least two weeks.… pic.twitter.com/HMxBrLTQ4E
