Jack Black stole the spotlight as he reunited with King Kong costar Naomi Watts at her Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony.
Watts, 57, was honored during the Oct. 13 ceremony with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — the 2,825th star in total. Husband Billy Crudup was on-hand, as was her son Sasha. Actor Edward Norton (who she starred in The Painted Veil and Birdman with) and producer Ryan Murphy (who created Watts' new series All's Fair) honored her in speeches.
Black, 56, did not have a formal role during the event, but he sat front row amongst the guests to cheer Watts on. Black received the 2,645th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September 2018.

After the ceremony, Black posed for photos with Watts. After more typical posing and smiling together, Black hit the ground to post next to Watts' star. He laid across the tile as Watts laughed at his antics.
2005's King Kong was the second remake of the 1933 film of the same title and also starred Adrien Brody. Directed by Peter Jackson, the film was a critical and commercial success that won three Oscars, for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Visual Effects.
At the time, King Kong was an unexpected dramatic turn for Black. "I've never done anything like this," he told NBC at the time about his role as Carl Denham, a film director who decides to capture Kong. "And I felt good in it. I felt like 'Yeah man, I can relate to that. I can do that. I like screaming at the top of my lungs and running as fast I can from monsters.' It was like, perfect."
Watts told Vanity Fair in 2017 that she didn't remember how scary King Kong was until she tried to show it to her kids. "I showed the kids the trailer of King Kong, cause that's the only thing I could possibly let them watch," she said of her filmography. "Within 20 seconds of watching it my little one started crying and I went, 'Oh no, this is the worst bit of parenting I could have possibly done. I'm getting sacrificed to a gorilla. This is not a good image to put in your kids' head.' "

During her Walk of Fame speech, Watts honored her mother, who she said was the first actress she ever watched, and late director David Lynch, who directed her in her 2001 breakthrough Mulholland Drive. She called Lynch a "true mentor" and shared what he told her when she was filming King Kong. Mimicking Lynch's voice, she remembered him saying, "Naomi, anyone who sits in the hand of King Kong will be a movie star for life."
"Maybe this is what he was talking about," she said.
