*Full House* actress Lori Loughlin and clothing designer Mossimo Giannulli, who married in 1997, have split, ** has confirmed.

"They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage," a rep for Loughlin, Elizabeth Much, told PEOPLE, who was the first to report the news. "There are no legal proceedings at this time."

The announcement comes more than six years after the couple were embroiled in the college admissions scandal nicknamed Operation Varsity Blues, in which 33 parents of applicants to various colleges were accused of paying $25 million to William Rick Singer for bribes and fudged documents that would ensure their children were admitted to their schools of choice.

Loughlin and Giannulli are the parents of two daughters: Isabella "Bella" Rose, 27, and influencer Olivia Jade, 26.

When the scandal broke, the parents were arrested after an investigation by the FBI alleged that they had paid $500,000 to make their offspring appear to be recruits for the crew team at the University of Southern California, despite the fact the girls didn't take part in crew team.

Both Loughlin and Giannulli entered guilty pleas in the case. While she was sentenced to two months in jail, plus two years of supervised release, a fine of $150,000; and 100 hours of community service, Giannulli was given five months behind bars. He was also sentenced to two years of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and 250 hours of community service.

Loughlin, who's since returned to acting on shows such as *Blue Bloods*, *Curb Your Enthusiasm*, and *When Hope Calls*, on which she reprised the role of Abigail Stanton, which she had played on Hallmark's series *When Calls the Heart* until she was fired in the wake of the scandal.

In April 2024, she talked about the need for resilience in one of her first interviews post-scandal, and quoted Chumbawamba's 1997 popular 1997 song "Tubthumping."**

"Every day, we're met with different obstacles," she told *First for Women Magazine*. "But, for me, it's like that song says, 'I get knocked down, but I get up again.'"**

Before the scandal, Loughlin played "Aunt" Becky Katsopolis on *Full House* for seven years, from 1988 to 1995, and played the same part on sequel series *Fuller House* in 2016-2018. She jopined *When Calls the Heart *in 2014, and starred in a number of Hallmark's *Garage Sale Mystery* TV movies beginning in 2013, as well as the CW's *90210*.
