Florida State football freshman Ethan Pritchard received a letter from President Donald Trump as he continues his recovery from a gunshot wound.
Pritchard was shot in the head on Sunday, Aug. 31, in Havana, Florida, following the Seminoles' win over Alabama. He has been making a recovery and has been in stable condition since.
The family shared the letter from the President.

"Melania and I are devastated to learn of your injury. Please know that my Administration will never stop fighting to clean up our streets and ensure law and order," Trump wrote in the letter shared on social media.
"Your courage reflects the power of the human spirit, and your tenacity is an inspiration to so many. We hope you find comfort in the love of family and friends and that you will be uplifted by the abiding strength and support of all those around you.
"Our thoughts and prayers will remain with you and your entire family. Stay strong!"
This goes beyond politics - and I want the comments to reflect that. President Donald Trump sent Ethan Pritchard's family a letter. I visited him and the family today in Tallahassee. Will have a full report tomorrow on @WESH #FSUTwitter pic.twitter.com/s099tm0RrL

Ethan Pritchard update
On Oct. 1, the Tallahassee Democrat ― part of the USA TODAY Network ― reported that Pritchard was taken off life support and breathing mostly on his own. FSU coach Mike Norvell said, "God is working a miracle" about Pritchard's recovery.
Pritchard has been at the ICU at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital since he was shot on Aug. 31 when he was taking his aunt and 3-year-old child home from a family dinner.
Four suspects ― Jayden Bodison, Caron Miller, Germany Atkins and a 16-year-old ― have been arrested and charged, after it was reported they ambushed Pritchard's car by gunfire near the Havana Heights neighborhood. The suspects were allegedly looking for someone who drove a similar car.
According to the Oct. 1 update on Pritchard, he is now on 40% oxygen.
"He is progressing. I got a chance to go see him earlier this week. It's truly a miracle some of the steps we are seeing," Norvell said. "There is still a long journey ahead, but to be able to have that opportunity to be in that room with him, see his eyes, see the foundational levels of growth, where it's going to be able to go. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that have been poured out to him.
"Because prayer works. God is working a miracle in that situation, and I believe that with everything."
