Valerie Weiss has signed with Sugar23 for representation, Variety has learned exclusively. Weiss will continue to be repped by CAA and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.

"We are thrilled to be working with such a singular talent as Valerie Weiss. Her work in film and television has an undeniable heartbeat. We are excited to see her career continue to grow across genres" said Sydney Blanke and Antoni Kaczmarek, who will rep Weiss at Sugar23.

Weiss is best known for her work directing television, having helmed episodes of hit series like "How To Get Away With Murder," "Scandal," "The Rookie," "The Resident," "Echoes," and "Outer Banks." She also directed two episodes of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds," including the Season 2 episode "Ad Astra Per Aspera" and Season 3's "The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail."

Weiss also directed two episodes of the "NCIS" spinoff "Tony & Ziva," which premiered in September on the streamer. She is also behind two episodes of the upcoming Amazon series "It's Not Like That" and is currently working on Season 4 of the hit Netflix show "Ginny & Georgia."

Weiss is also looking to direct more films in addition to TV, having previously directed films like "Mixtape," "The Archer," and "A Light Beneath Their Feet." She serves as Co-Chair of the DGA's Women's Steering Committee and was appointed to both the DGA's Sustainable Future as well as Special Projects Committees.

Prior to working in entertainment, Weiss studied X-ray crystallography at Harvard Medical School, earning a Ph.D. in biophysics and a master's degree in medical science.
