The announcement came after Amezcua and city council member David Penaloza told TMZ they were moving to ask the city's manager to light up Santa Ana's water tower for the remainder of the week.

According to the outlet, the city previously lit up its water tower using the color purple when Prince died in 2016 and when Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant died in 2020.

Keaton was born Jan. 5, 1946, to dad Jack, a civil engineer, and mom Dorothy Deanne, an amateur photographer. The eldest of four, including brother Randy and sisters Robin and Dorrie, she dropped out of community college at 19 to study acting in New York City.

PEOPLE reported news of Keaton's death on Oct. 11. "There are no further details available at this time, and her family has asked for privacy in this moment of great sadness," her spokesperson said.
