The 26-year-old defensive end signed a new deal with the Green Bay Packers, and a boy went viral online after his reaction to the news was filmed by his mom

To make things right, Parsons hopped on a FaceTime chat with the young boy

A young boy who burst into tears upon learning that NFL defensive end Micah Parsons was leaving the Dallas Cowboys for the Green Bay Packers got some closure.

Over the weekend, a TikTok shared by a woman named Lesley Zermeno documented the moment that she told her young son Isaac that Parsons was leaving Texas for Green Bay, Wisc.

In the video, Isaac started crying in the car upon hearing the news. The relatable clip amassed more than 4.5 million views and thousands of comments in three days.

"I'm crying with him and I'm 42!" one TikTok user commiserated.

The video also captured the attention of Parsons, who replied by simply writing in the comments, "I'm sorry! 😓"

But the NFL star took it one step further by personally speaking with Isaac to make amends.

In a follow-up video posted on Sunday, Aug. 31, Zermeno revealed that Parsons reached out and scheduled a FaceTime chat with her son.

"I saw that video, I'm sorry, bruh," Parsons told the child, who assured him that it was alright. The player continued, "I hope you know, in life, things happen that you can't control, but you just got to keep going."

He offered to send Isaac a new jersey, jokingly telling him to "get good grades in school" — or else Zermeno would be allowed to keep the gift herself.

Parsons also expressed gratitude for Isaac's fandom, telling him, "Even though you're a big Cowboys fan, I hope that you still follow me and my career, because that's what it's all about. Passionate fans. That just meant a lot to me. I hope you know that."

Zermeno addressed Parsons in the caption of the video, writing, "Thank you so much to Micah & his team 🥹 Isaac was so nervous he couldn't get his words out 🥲💚 💙 this means the world to him!"

The video was another viral sensation, amassing more than 230,000 views.

Fans in the comments section reflected on how Parsons handled the moment, with many praising him.

"Micah is truly a class act," one person wrote, adding that his Facetime with Isaac "is the kind of thing a true professional does." Another echoed that the athlete was impressive, saying that he seemed "like a guy with a good heart."

"Can he send my man a jersey too cause he also cried," one TikToker joked.

Parsons finalized his trade on Thursday, Aug. 28, according to reporting by Sports Illustrated. The new contract is for four years and is worth $188 million.

The 26-year-old's move came after an extended contract renegotiation period with the Cowboys after he joined the team in 2021.
