One of The Bold and the Beautiful's longest running triangles may be headed in a new direction as co-head writer Michael Minnis teases an exciting new twist coming this fall.
Minnis recently spoke with TV Insider about the upcoming fall season of the beloved CBS soap opera, during the discussion the conversation of Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang)/ Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) /Taylor (Rebecca Budig) came up.
Teasing what's to come Minnis said,
Ridge and Taylor's relationship is going to be tested, and that might send Taylor off into new directions, with perhaps someone else that hopefully the fans will embrace.
Viewers also got a taste of what's to come in their relationship earlier this week. As Parade previously reported, Matthew Atkinson is returning to the series as Ridge and Taylor's son Thomas Forrester. The fan favorite will appear on screen this week, after reuniting with his mother he is seen confronting Brooke telling her to stay away from his parents' relationship.

Brooke/Ridge/Taylor's history
The love triangle began back in 1990 when Taylor Hayes (then- Hunter Tylo) joined the program as Ridge's (Then-Ronn Moss) wife's Caroline's (Joanna Johnson) doctor. After Caroline's passing Taylor and Ridge developed feelings. Meanwhile, Ridge's relationship with his ex-Brooke also found their way to the surface. The triangle became a staple of The Bold and the Beautiful's fabric. Creating the warring fan bases rooting for which Ridge pairing was the best for the last thirty plus years.
The blueprint for 'Bridge' (Brooke/Ridge) vs. 'Tridge' (Taylor/Ridge) is one of the building blocks that The Bold and the Beautiful has used over the years with its next generation, most popularly with Steffy/Liam/Hope.
Ridge and Taylor have three children together: Thomas and twin sisters Steffy and Phoebe.
Meanwhile, Ridge and Brooke share one child together: Ridge Jr. (R.J.)
Fans will have to tune in to The Bold and the Beautiful to see how the story develops.
