The NFL doesn't usually take big design swings, but this year's "Rivalries" uniforms break that pattern. In collaboration with Nike, eight teams received one-off alternate looks tied to divisional matchups and regional identity. The sets are supposed to reflect something local, such as the weather, history, architecture, or even the energy at the stadium.

But while some teams managed to nail the concept, a few produced designs that raised more questions than excitement.

Buffalo Bills – Best

The Bills' Rivalries uniform is all white, with silver numbers and frosted details that reflect Buffalo's winter weather. A Buffalo graphic appears on the sleeve, and "Bills Mafia" is stitched inside the collar. The overall look is clean and matches the team's style.

Arizona Cardinals – Best

The Cardinals' Rivalries uniform is designed to look like Arizona's dust storms. It has a textured white base with copper-outlined numbers and a state flag patch, a nod to the state's mining history. Paired with white pants, the design feels connected to Arizona rather than a generic theme.

Seattle Seahawks – Best

Fans will see Seattle's "High-Decibel Zone" uniform in Week 16 during a Thursday Night Football game against the Rams. The creation focuses on the team's loud home crowd and music culture, with a soundwave graphic running across the shoulders and pants. The numbers feature hidden "12" marks and glow-inspired trim, while the helmet has an iridescent green finish with a bluish tint.

New England Patriots – Best

The phrase "We Are All Patriots" is stitched inside the collar of New England's "Nor'Easter" uniform, as a direct reference to Robert Kraft's words after the team's first Super Bowl win. The final result also takes inspiration from earlier eras with throwback-style numbers and a silver "NE" patch on the sleeve.

San Francisco 49ers – Worst

Despite strong branding ideas, the 49ers' choice of black as the base shade doesn't align with the team's visual identity. The gold accents and saloon-style numbers work well, but the primary color choice undercuts the theme. The franchise has recently leaned into cream and vintage red tones, which might have supported the Gold Rush angle more effectively.

Miami Dolphins – Worst

Miami nightlife served as the inspiration for the Dolphins' "Dark Waters" uniform, but the style doesn't fully capture it. The pitch-blue jersey is paired with orange and turbo green accents on the helmet and sleeves, while "Go Fins!" is stitched inside the collar. The team described the design as a tribute to speed and energy, yet the visuals feel disconnected.

Los Angeles Rams – Worst

Reactions to the Rams' "Midnight Mode" uniform have been mixed, with a lot of people noting that the elements don't fit together. The navy base is paired with bright yellow sleeve accents and pant stripes, while perforated lighting effects are meant to mirror SoFi Stadium's blue glow.

New York Jets – Worst

Graphics on the sleeves and chest of the Jets' "Gotham City Football Club" uniform reference manhole covers and city grit, but the execution is unclear. Even inside the collar, where "Gotham City Football" is stitched in Gothic script, the strongest detail ends up hidden during play.
