No. 6 Oregon headed into Happy Valley on Saturday night in a "White Out" and defeated No. 3 Penn State in double overtime 30-24 on a walk-off interception. The Ducks improved to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in Big Ten play, while Penn State suffered its first loss of the season.
One bettor had a very large rooting interest.
A bettor at the BetMGM sportsbook at The Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey, wagered $1.8 million on Penn State to beat Oregon at -175 odds on Saturday morning. Yahoo Sports confirmed the legitimacy of the wager with the sportsbook director.
The bet would have won a little over $1 million if the Nittany Lions had been victorious.

Penn State was down 17-3 in the fourth quarter, but came back with 14 unanswered points (including a 7-yard Devonte Ross TD pass from Drew Allar with 30 seconds remaining) to tie the game at 17 and send it into overtime.
Both teams scored TDs on their first possessions before Oregon scored on a 25-yard TD pass from Dante Moore to Gary Bryant Jr., and then Allar was picked off.
Penn State head coach James Franklin is now 4-21 against top-10 opponents in his career.
