Texas A&M will be looking for revenge when it hosts Auburn in Week 5 of the college football season.
The Aggies, in the driver's seat for an SEC championship game and College Football Playoff appearance last season, traveled to Auburn and fell 43-41 in four overtimes in the second to last game of the regular season. The loss forced Texas A&M into a must-win situation against rival Texas, which beat the Aggies in a play-in game for an SEC title match appearance.

Texas A&M is a CFP hopeful once again, and Auburn is looking to bounce back after falling to Oklahoma on the road in Week 4. Both situations could make for a difficult game for the Aggies, who are coming off a bye week.
The win was Auburn coach Hugh Freeze's first and only win against a ranked team during his tenure. And Freeze is looking to double that number on Sept. 27.
Here's a look back at Texas A&M and Auburn's wild matchup in 2024, one that nearly evaporated the Aggies' CFP hopes.
Texas A&M vs Auburn football 2024
Texas A&M found itself trailing 21-0 in the first half on the road at Jordan-Hare Stadium, but was able to dig out of a big hole, tying the game in the third quarter after scoring 21 unanswered points.
The Aggies eventually took a 31-28 lead with less than five minutes left on a rushing touchdown by Amari Daniels, but Auburn drove down the field and sent the game to overtime on a 29-yard field goal by Ian Vachon.
Things got crazy in the overtime period, as both teams traded touchdowns in the first overtime before exchanging field goals in the second. The third overtime places the teams in 2-point conversion situations, which both failed to convert in the third period, making the score 41-41 heading into quadruple overtime.
Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne threw a game-winning 2-point conversion to Keandre Lambert-Smith, before the Tigers stopped Texas A&M on a trick play to seal the win. Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed lined up at receiver, as they tried to run a reverse trick pass, which Auburn sniffed out and stopped.
Florida had already beaten Ole Miss earlier in the day, all but ending the Rebels' CFP hopes. Oklahoma went on to beat Alabama, also putting a massive dent in the Crimson Tide's chances.
It was one of those days in college football, as Texas A&M couldn't fight off the upset. Then-first-year coach Mike Elko was certainly disappointed, as he looked to make a statement with a CFP bid in year one.
"This one's certainly going to hurt, and we're obviously extremely disappointed," Elko said after the game. "We had ourselves in a really good position. Obviously with who we play and what we're playing for, there's still going to be a lot of energy going into that stadium next week."
Texas A&M still had a chance to reach the SEC championship game, although the Aggies would have needed to run the table to earn a CFP nod. Texas A&M lost in the regular season finale to Texas at home, losing out on an SEC title game and CFP spot in the process.
Reed had a strong performance, completing 22 of 35 passes for 297 yards with three touchdowns to an interception, while rushing for 66 yards on 21 carries. Auburn was led by running back Jarquez Hunter, who ran for 130 yards and three scores. Tigers quarterback Payton Thorne passed for 301 yards with two touchdowns to an interception.
"My emotions are kind of tough to put into words right now," Thorne said. "I am still kind of riding that high. It was great. I did not know if they were going to storm the field or not, and I turned around and some fan was smacking me in the head. That is when I was like, 'Whoa, this is pretty sweet.' It was awesome."
