Lauren Hutton stepped out for Milan Fashion Week, marking a rare public appearance for the 81-year-old model and actress

She attended the Bottega Veneta and Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear shows, both labels having ties to her role in the 1980 film, American Gigolo, also starring Richard Gere

Although Hutton's appearances have been sparse in recent years, she's opened up about her outlook on aging in various interviews

Lauren Hutton made her return to Fashion Week a memorable one.

The legendary supermodel and actress, 81, made multiple public outings for the star-studded circuit in Milan, kicking off her rare appearances at the Bottega Veneta show on Sept. 27.

For her first official show of the weekend, Hutton wore a brown tweed suit styled with a button-up shirt (with the collar popped for a cool vibe), white sneakers and a green hat.

The ensemble happened to also nod to American Gigolo through one powerful accessory — her Bottega Veneta clutch.

In the 1980 film, Hutton's costumes are accessorized with a sophisticated woven clutch designed by the luxury fashion house, and decades after it was featured on the silver screen, the exact bag was later modeled by Hutton when she walked the label's show in September 2016. With the style so recognizable — and coveted — the archival piece was also later replicated in a limited collection of "The Lauren 1980" clutches. At the time, acquiring one cost $2,150, per The Cut.

If Hutton reuniting with her iconic Bottega bag wasn't enough, the star also reunited with her American Gigolo costar, Richard Gere (who was joined by his wife, Alejandra Silva) at the Sept. 28. Giorgio Armani show.

Fans will recall that the designer, whose death at 91 was announced on Sept. 4, was the mastermind behind the movie's timeless wardrobe, so it was only fitting that the pair come together for the occasion, which saw Hutton clad in a tailored white suit.

In recent years, Hutton has been open about aging, giving Byrdie her honest thoughts about the world's "obsession with youth" in a 2022 interview.

"...If we're lucky, we're all going to get old. I think it's time to realize that anti-aging is an old-fashioned term," she told the outlet. And instead of "worrying about this wrinkle or that spot," Hutton said she firmly believes in positively transforming the dialogue around what happens in mature age. "We should all be focused on taking good care of our skin and ourselves, and the industry can help shift that conversation for the future."

She's also been candid about her relationship with cosmetic enhancements, including her use of Botox. "Do anything you want but be careful. There are people I've known for a long time in L.A. and it's hard to look at them," she said in her 2019 PEOPLE interview.
