Over the first four years of his career, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love managed to stay healthy. In the last two seasons, that's changed – but only a bit.

Part of the reason for Love's relative health over his first four seasons was his status as a backup quarterback for the first two years of his career. With veteran Aaron Rodgers still in Green Bay, Love didn't appear in a game as a rookie in 2020, then made it to the field in just 10 games over the next two years.

In 2023, Love's first year as a starter, the Utah State product managed to stay healthy for all 17 games.

That clean bill of health did not last more than one game into Love's 2024 season. He sustained an MCL sprain in a Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles in São Paulo, Brazil. It knocked him out of the Packers' next two games.

Later last year, Love suffered a couple of other injuries but managed to avoid missing any other starts. And this year, Love has already sustained another injury, though it happened in the preseason and didn't cause him to miss any regular-season action.

Here's a full look at Love's injury history since Green Bay drafted him in 2020:

Jordan Love injury history -

Nov. 3, 2018: Love, then a starter for Utah State, exits the game vs. Hawai'i in the second quarter after getting his legs knocked out from under him on a read-option play. Some outlets have reported Love sustained a concussion on the play, but USA TODAY Sports has been unable to confirm. He returns the following week.

Aug. 14, 2021: Love hurts his right (throwing) shoulder on a strip-sack during a preseason game against the Houston Texans. Medical tests following the injury come back clean, and the quarterback misses no time.

Sept. 6, 2024: After three years of health, Love sprains his MCL with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter of the Packers' clash with the Eagles in Brazil. He misses two games due to the injury.

Oct. 27, 2024: Love injures his groin on the first possession of the Packers' Week 8 game against the Jaguars. He remains in the game for the remainder of the half but exits three and a half minutes into the third quarter. Love manages to return for his next start the following week.

Jan. 5, 2025: Love sustains a right (throwing) elbow injury in the second quarter that causes him to lose feeling in his hand. He misses the remainder of the game but returns for the Packers' wild-card round game the following week.

Aug. 9, 2025: Love hurts his left (non-throwing) thumb on a sack in the Packers' Week 1 preseason matchup against the Jets. He undergoes surgery to repair the injured (ulnar collateral) ligament and returns in time for Week 1 of the regular season.

Malik Willis

Willis, a former third-round pick for the Tennessee Titans in the 2022 NFL Draft, ended up in Green Bay last year in a trade that sent a seventh-round pick back to Tennessee.

In his first year with the Packers, Willis did a fine job filling in for Love. He went 2-0 in his two starts last year in Weeks 2 and 3 after Love suffered his MCL injury in Week 1, and he ended the year with 550 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Willis also showed off some skill with his legs last year, tallying 138 rushing yards on 20 attempts (6.9 yards per carry) and adding another score on the ground.
