Christopher Woodrow has been appointed chairman of the board of Eli Roth's The Horror Section. In his new role, Woodrow will work alongside Roth and CEO Jon Schnaars to shape the company's strategic vision and drive growth. He will lead efforts to secure significant investment capital and identify high-value strategic partnerships.

Woodrow is the founder and chairman of Media Capital Technologies (MCT), a leading media and entertainment investment company, and co-chairman of Row K Entertainment alongside MCT President Raj Singh, a U.S. theatrical distribution company and subsidiary of MCT which was launched in August ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival.

In early 2025, MCT partnered with Roth to launch The Horror Section, a 360 media company focused on building a robust intellectual property library and creating the world's premier horror brand. Roth's "Ice Cream Man," which Woodrow and Singh produced alongside Roth and Kate Harrison, was scooped up by international buyers this year at Cannes and is scheduled for a wide theatrical release in 2026 via The Horror Section. MCT provides strategic support across corporate finance, project finance and day-to-day operational management.

This weekend at TIFF, MCT and The Horror Section announced they will finance and produce Roth's next film, "Don't Go in That House, Bitch!" Rapper, songwriter, producer, media personality and actor Snoop Dogg will produce the film and write and produce the film's original soundtrack. Roth and Snoop will produce alongside Woodrow and Singh.

"Chris has been an amazing partner, and I am honored to have him as the chairman of our Board. His business acumen, as well as creative instincts, make him the perfect leader to help grow this company into a powerhouse brand," said Roth. "I have enjoyed working with Chris and his incredible team at MCT every step of the way and am excited for the next few years as we grow the company in all areas, from production to merchandise, to gaming and live events."

"The Horror Section is off to an unbelievable start and is experiencing substantial growth. I have always been a fan of Eli, and reteaming with him earlier this year was an amazing opportunity," said Woodrow. "We first worked together more than a decade ago when I financed 'The Green Inferno' and produced it alongside him. I am excited for the future of the company as we scale the business into an industry leader in the coming years."

Woodrow has financed and produced more than 50 feature films over the past two decades, including the Best Picture winner "Birdman," "Black Mass" and "Hacksaw Ridge." His films have received 16 Academy Award nominations, winning six, and have grossed over $1 billion in global box office revenue.

MCT is a media and entertainment investment company founded in 2019, focused on structured finance, corporate transactions and venture incubation. The company manages investment vehicles and operates a portfolio of principal investments.

MCT is backed by a range of institutional investors, including MassMutual, which acquired an interest in the company in 2021.

MCT has been Lionsgate's primary slate co-financing partner since 2023. The company has invested in over 20 films with the studio, including "Saw X," "Flight Risk," and the John Wick spinoff "Ballerina." Upcoming titles include "The Long Walk," "Good Fortune," and "The Housemaid."
