President Donald Trump said that his 19-year-old son Barron is "a very good athlete" during a recent Oval Office appearance
He added that while Barron likes playing soccer, he's "on the tall side" for the sport
The president also praised his own athletic ability and joked he looks "extremely good in shorts"
Barron Trump is an athlete in the making, according to his father, President Donald Trump.
While hosting FIFA president Gianni Infantino at the White House on Aug. 22, Donald joked with reporters, saying he himself "may play" in the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
"I see the money that these soccer players — we call it soccer — I see the money that these soccer players are making. I may try and play," he said. "I'm a very good athlete."
The president then brought Barron into the conversation, saying, "My son is a very good athlete."
Donald added that while his youngest son is "a good soccer player," the 19-year-old is "on the tall side for soccer."
Barron, who is preparing to start his sophomore year at New York University, currently stands at 6'9", according to his father. Infantino agreed that Barron would tower over the average soccer player.
"That's pretty tall," the president repeated. "He's on the tall side, but it's good."

During the White House visit, Infantino made the announcement that the draw for the 2026 men's World Cup will take place in Washington, D.C., at the Kennedy Center this December.
"It's the biggest, probably the biggest event in sports," Trump said.
Infantino brought the golden World Cup trophy with him for the visit, letting Donald hold it during the press conference and prompting him to ask, "Can I keep it?"

While Barron might enjoy sports, a source previously told PEOPLE that Melania Trump's only child is looking to follow in his dad's footsteps career-wise.
PEOPLE's source said in January that the college student has already adopted an entrepreneurial mindset.
"He is interested in business in general, developing properties, making money and being involved in successful projects," the source shared at the time. "He has his own ideas and understands what people of his age are looking for."
The source continued, "He is quite entrepreneurial, bright and not shy about getting his own career in gear."
