DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Kaulig Racing will be Ram's anchor partner when the automaker makes its return to NASCAR in 2026.

Team owner Matt Kaulig said Saturday at a Daytona Beach Ram dealership that the team will field five entries in the Truck Series. No drivers were announced for those seats.

Kaulig will be the only team to field Ram entries. The Truck teams will be based out of Kaulig race shop in Welcome, North Carolina.

"This partnership represents far more than a new chapter in Kaulig Racing's history. It's a union of shared values," Kaulig said. "Over the past decade, our team has built a legacy rooted in performance, integrity and giving back to the community. To now join forces as the anchor team for Ram's return to NASCAR is both an honor and a responsibility. Together, we're ready to set a new standard on race day and in the impact we make off the track."

Next season will be Ram's return to the Truck Series, where the manufacturer last raced in 2012.

"We needed a partner that truly aligns with the Ram brand and embraces our unconventional approach to NASCAR," Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said in a statement. "With Kaulig Racing, we found the perfect synergy to drive our 'Last Tenth' culture forward."

Kaulig Racing will continue to field Chevrolets in the Xfinity and Cup Series while fielding Rams in the Truck Series. Kaulig has two full-time entries in Cup and three full-time entries in the Xfinity Series.

The Ram partnership will be the first time Kaulig Racing has competed in the Truck Series. Kaulig began his NASCAR ownership in 2016 in the Xfinity Series before expanding to Cup in 2021.

Should you draft De'Von Achane in fantasy? Injury update, outlook for Dolphins RB

Running backs might've fallen out of favor in the modern NFL, but it still remains a premium position in fantasy football.

Finding the roster combination for your imaginary backfield could just be the thing that results in a trophy at season's end. While the biggest, shiniest names come with all the fanfare, it's also important to manage risk in a draft setting.

De'Von Achane profiles as one of those risky picks in 2025 – someone that can either make-or-break your season.

He finished as RB5 in PPR formats a year ago, making the speedy Miami Dolphins running back a top selection again this year. However, Achane is battling a calf injury as the preseason comes to a close – an injury that will make fantasy managers squirm as Week 1 nears.

Calf issues have become an especially close relative to the Achilles injury in recent years, only furthering the concern. Head coach Mike McDaniel doesn't seem to be worried about Achane going forward, but should you be?

Here's a look at the fantasy outlook for the Dolphins running back as well as whether you should take the plunge and draft him.

Should you draft De'Von Achane in fantasy?

Drafting Achane is an exercise in risk and your tolerance for it.

He is one of the best running backs in the league from a fantasy perspective. Achane plays in a RB-friendly offense and now doesn't have a lot of competition for work in the backfield after Alexander Mattison's season-ending neck injury.

Jaylen Wright struggled in the preseason, leaving the rookie, Ollie Gordon II, as the other contender for snaps in the backfield.

Fortunately for fantasy managers, Gordon is a complementary piece that is more of a tough runner as opposed to Achane's finesse style that excels in the passing attack.

With no real competition for snaps, Achane has a clear path to another top fantasy finish – provided he stays healthy.

However, the soft tissue injury complicates things. In the 2024 season, Christian McCaffrey's calf injury became a lingering issue that derailed his year.

Couple that with a Dolphins team that doesn't figure to be good and there is some concern. Remember, you're also drafting the team and it's offensive line.

Achane might be immune to some of those issues though, considering his presence as a weapon in the passing game.

Verdict: Fantasy football isn't for the faint of heart and being conservative doesn't do you any favors. Capitalize on your leaguemates' fear and snag Achane as he slips later into the second round. Just be sure to pick up Gordon later on.

No. 22 Iowa State stuffed No. 17 Kansas State on multiple fourth-down attempts and converted a massive one itself on the way to a 24-21 win to kick off the 2025 college football season.

The Cyclones sealed the game with a huge fourth-down conversion from QB Rocco Becht to RB Carson Hansen with a little more than 2 minutes left. Instead of kicking a field goal from the K-State 17-yard line to potentially go up 27-21 with plenty of time for Kansas State to get a touchdown, Iowa State and coach Matt Campbell went for it on fourth-and-3.

Hansen snuck out open into the left flat and nearly scored a touchdown as his right forearm hit the turf just before the ball got across the line.

Becht said after the game that he was given two play calls to run for the fourth down and had the ability to choose which one he liked better.

"We've worked on it in practice and it's been working for us, and I felt more confident in it and had trust in my guys," Becht told ESPN.

With Kansas State out of timeouts, Iowa State was able to kneel out the clock at the goal line to secure the win. Hanson's forearm hitting the ground just before he got into the end zone was massive for bettors who had wagered on the game's total.

The over/under was 50.5 points for most of the week and over 80% of the money at BetMGM was on the over.

The Cyclones took a 10-point lead shortly after Kansas State failed on fourth down for the third time in the game. With Iowa State up 17-14 and 8:19 remaining, Kansas State went for it on fourth-and-1 from its own 30. And QB Avery Johnson got stopped short of the sticks.

Four plays later, Becht scored on a 7-yard TD run. But Kansas State quickly responded with a 65-yard TD pass to Jerand Bradley on the first play of its next possession to cut the lead back to three.

Kansas State was just 1-of-4 on fourth downs throughout the game. RB Joe Jackson got stuffed with a yard to go in the first half inside Iowa State's 10-yard line and the Wildcats also failed on a fourth-and-9 in the second half.

The two teams combined for 24 points in the fourth quarter after Iowa State led 14-7 at the end of the third quarter. The eventful final quarter was preceded by an entertainingly ugly first half.

Each team fumbled twice in the first two quarters. Iowa State fumbled at the K-State 1-yard line after the Wildcats muffed a punt early in the first quarter.

Starting RB Dylan Edwards dropped that punt and was injured on the play. He didn't return to the game as he watched from the sideline without his helmet.

Becht finished 14-of-28 passing for 183 yards and two TDs as Iowa State finally found open space in the run game in the second half. Hansen finished with 16 carries for 71 yards.

Johnson was 21-of-30 passing for 273 yards and two TDs, though he had a couple of passes he'd like to have back — especially on the fourth-down attempt earlier in the second half when he threw behind his receiver. In Edwards' absence, Jackson led the team with 12 carries for 51 yards.

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler will miss the remainder of the season after being diagnosed with venous thoracic outlet syndrome, the team announced Saturday.

Wheeler had a successful right upper extremity blood clot removed on Aug. 18, and during the evaluation and second opinions, it was recommended that he undergo surgery, which will take place at a later date.

According to the Mayo Clinic, venous thoracic outlet syndrome is a group of conditions in which there's pressure on blood vessels or nerves in the area between the neck and shoulder, which can cause numbness in the fingers.

The team said that the recovery from the injury will likely take six to eight months.

Philadelphia Phillies ace right-hander Zack Wheeler was diagnosed with venous thoracic outlet syndrome and has been recommended to undergo season-ending decompression surgery in the coming weeks, the team announced Saturday.

The timeline for recovery following that surgery is six-to-eight months.

Per the Mayo Clinic, venous thoracic outlet syndrome occurs when one or more of the veins under the collarbone are compressed and damaged. This can result in blood clots.

With Wheeler sidelined, the National League East-leading Phillies will rely on left-handers Cristopher Sanchez, Jesus Luzardo and Ranger Suarez along with right-handers Aaron Nola and Taijuan Walker in their starting rotation.

Wheeler, 35, underwent the initial surgery to remove a blood clot in his right upper extremity on Monday.

He was placed on the 15-day injured list last Saturday due to a blood clot located near his right shoulder. He previously missed another start and was subtracted from the rotation one day after he allowed two runs on four hits over five innings in Friday's 6-2 win over the Washington Nationals.

Wheeler was an All-Star each of the past two seasons. In six seasons with the Phillies, the right-hander is 69-37 with a 2.91 ERA and 1,094 strikeouts to 220 walks in 979 innings.

In 24 starts this season, he is 10-5 with a 2.71 ERA and a National League-leading 195 strikeouts.

Before arriving in Philadelphia, Wheeler spent five seasons with the New York Mets.
