Anna Kendrick Loses To Barbie In Staring Contest

Today, we finally find out what inspired the staring contest between legendary children's playmate Barbie and Pitch Perfect singer Anna Kendrick. The duo we didn't realize we needed teamed up to promote Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Homes in a commercial slated for today's Super Bowl game already afoot.

Anna is flustered upon their first meeting because she claims she's loved the doll since she was a kid. The actress gets confused about addressing the icon stumbling between Ma'am, Miss, and Ms. Luckily, Barbie rescues her from her nerve-wracking bumbling and permits Anna to address her on a first-name basis.

Staring Contest: Who Wins?

Anna and Barbie get into an unexpected staring contest, and as you can expect, the doll wins. Her eyes don't move anyways, so we believe it was an unfair competition in the first place. Though we still don't know what prompted the contest, we hope to find out in a few minutes, and we'll be sure to update you.

Barbie Is An Overachiever

It's a challenging world out there with mortgages. Anna feels the heat in the competitive mortgage industry, and she voices that much out. While the actress talks about Rocket Mortgage, the doll subtly brags about her achievements - unnerving Anna.

"Anna: I'm glad we're making a Super Bowl commercial for Rocket.

Barbie: Well of course.

Anna: Because the housing market is so competitive right now.

Barbie: Totally, but it's not as competitive as when I was a gymnast, or when I was in the Space race, and don't get me started on competitive bee keepers!"

Anna: Oh, I had no idea."

Tongue Twisting Warm Up

It seems tongue twisters are the in-thing in Hollywood commercials as Barbie practices some of the classics to prepare for her big day. Zendaya's commercial for Squarespace, also airing during the Super Bowl halftime show, plays on the classic tongue-twister "Sally sells seashells by the seashore," and Barbie borrows from her playbook. The doll then adds more twisters like "Pastrami Origami," "What time does the Wristwatch strap shop stop?" and "She sees cheese."

Trailer Size Dispute

We clamor for equity in our daily activities, and so does Barbie. The doll got curious over the clear difference between her trailer size and Anna's, and frankly, we can't fault her. Being a supportive friend, Anna pointed out the "proportional" similarities and extra campfire perk around the doll's pink trailer. It almost sounded like someone was jealousssssss.

Gwen Stefani's Super Bowl Music Fest performance left Shefani fans thirsting for more since she co-headlined with her newly wedded husband, Blake Shelton. The country music stars performed their famed duet Happy Anywhere and Nobody But You, kickstarting Valentine's week with the correct dose of romance.

The best part about the night, though, was that the Grammy award-winning artist didn't over saturate her set with romantic duets - a refreshing choice considering she's an individual force as well. She wowed fans with a team of backup dancers, bands, and costumes such that Blake's modest set almost paled in comparison but for the hit songs he performed! Thank Goodness.

Gwen gave her 13 million Instagram followers a taste of what was coming when she shared her pre-show workout plan using Blake's voice as the background vocals. With the team currently in the initial phase of the rebuilding process, the Spurs are highly unlikely to keep Dragic for the remainder of the 2021-22 NBA season. In a recent article, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN revealed that Dragic and the Spurs are soon expected to reach a buyout agreement and mentioned the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors as top suitors for the veteran point guard's service.

After acquiring James Harden from the Houston Rockets last summer, the Brooklyn Nets immediately became one of the heavy favorites to fully dominate the Eastern Conference and win the NBA championship title in the 2021-22 NBA season. With the "Big Three" of Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving, most people believed that the Nets could easily beat any powerhouse team in a best-of-seven series. Unfortunately, the Nets' "Big Three" didn't even last for one season after it was dismantled before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

James Harden-Ben Simmons Became Official

In the past months, rumors have been swirling that the Sixers were eyeing to trade disgruntled star Ben Simmons for Harden. During that time, the Nets have been informing the Sixers and everyone in the league that they have no interest in trading "The Beard." However, hours before the 2022 NBA trade deadline, the Nets and the Sixers have agreed to a blockbuster deal that sent Harden and Paul Millsap to Philadelphia in exchange for Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two future first-round picks.

After both Harden and Millsap passed the physical exams, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN revealed on Twitter that the Sixers-Nets trade have become official.

Kevin Durant 'Initially Resisted' James Harden-Ben Simmons Trade

In a recent article, Tim Bontemps of ESPN shared some interesting details about the Sixers-Nets blockbuster trade featuring Simmons and Harden. A month before the 2022 NBA trade deadline, Bontemps revealed that Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group had a meeting with Durant where they discussed the idea of trading Simmons for Harden.

"While on business in New York on Jan. 13, Paul met with Durant and Durant's business partner, Rich Kleiman. The conversation transitioned to basketball, and Paul made his case for a Harden-Simmons trade, sources said. Durant initially resisted, but within 48 hours, Durant suffered the MCL injury, and his absence became an accelerant to Harden's spiral with the franchise," Bontemps wrote.

James Harden Specifically Demanded A Trade To Philly

It wasn't surprising that Durant initially resisted the idea of trading Harden for Simmons. Overall pick, most people would agree that Harden is a much better player than Simmons. Though he's not an elite defender like Simmons, Harden is a very reliable scorer and can shoot the ball from beyond the arc.

Unfortunately for Durant, Harden wasn't invested long-term in Brooklyn. Despite saying on numerous occasions that he wanted to stay with the Nets, Bontemps revealed that it was Harden who personally called Nets GM Sean Marks and owner Joe Tsai to tell them about his desire to be traded to the City of Brotherly Love.

Are The Nets Still Title Contender?

Losing Harden is undeniably tough for the Nets, but they still managed to acquire some intriguing assets in return. Aside from receiving two future first-round picks, the Nets also added players who could help achieve their main goal in the 2021-22 NBA season. In exchange for Harden, the Nets got a young star in Simmons, a veteran sharpshooter in Curry, and a defensive-minded big man in Drummond.

On paper, the Nets are still a team to fear in the Eastern Conference. However, their chances of winning the NBA championship will likely depend on Simmons, who is still dealing with mental issues and has yet to play a single game this season.

Former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has been on the sideline since suffering an injury at UFC 264. In round one of his fight against Dustin Poirier, the doctor stopped the bout after McGregor suffered a broken leg which rendered him unable to continue. However, though he's still under rehabilitation, the 33-year-old Irish mixed martial artist is currently being targeted by some of the big names in the world of fighting sports.

One of the popular fighters who recently expressed interest in fighting "The Notorious" is famous YouTuber and professional boxer Jake Paul.

Jake Paul Wants To Fight Conor McGregor

While promoting the mega bout between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor at the London press conference, Paul revealed that one of his main goals is to face McGregor. Paul said that he's willing to fight McGregor even in his own territory.

“I want to fight [Conor] McGregor, I will fight him in a boxing ring in Ireland," Paul said, via BJPenn.com. "This is partially how the journey [in boxing] started. I made up my mind that I was going to get a fight with McGregor and win it and that is what motivated me to jump into this boxing career.”

Jake Paul Offered Conor McGregor $50 Million

Paul has been calling out McGregor since December 2020. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Paul revealed that he offered McGregor and his team $50 million and accused of being "scared" to accept the deal.

"You're ducking me because you don't wanna lose to a f--king YouTuber," Paul said, via Bleacher Report. "You're 0-1 as a boxer. I'm 2-0 as a boxer."

Meanwhile, in an interview with TMZ Sports, via YouTube, Paul reiterated that his fight offer to McGregor is real. He also showed a "proof of funds" email from the bank that he has $50 million.

Will Conor McGregor Be Interested In Fighting Jake Paul?

Though he failed to receive a response from McGregor and his team when he first challenged him to a fight, it won't be a surprise if Paul is now starting to catch his attention. Since he called out McGregor, Paul continues to make a name in the world of boxing. She returned to her gym PVRN Fitness to get the best training in anticipation of her sixth win.

PVRN prides itself on competing at the next level with a focus on excellence. This is the plan for the new cycle.

Losing Weight

Tia expressed her desire to lose her 20 pounds weight-gain since the Australian bobsled team left her hanging. She explained the benefit of the weight-gain to Men's Health saying,

"The whole intent with putting on the weight was to help with my bobsled," she says. "The heavier I was in my body weight, the lighter the shed I was pushing, and that was only going to help my pilot and I have a really nice push, which obviously allows us to go down the track faster."

She took to her YouTube to explain her new body goal to her subscribers. Tia calls it all part of the experience, even though getting dropped disappointed her.

Defending Her Title

Tia is ready to defend her title at the CrossFit Opens this month which is why she returned to the gym as soon as she could. During her previous bobsled training, Tia-Clair focused more on strength routines consisting of power cleans, squats, and sprints. However, now that the goal is a sixth CrossFit championship, she'll incorporate Endurance pieces of training back into her routine.
