Did Becky Lynch's Contract Lead To WWE Releases? Liv Morgan Stands By Statement

Liv Morgan dropped a controversial line directed at Becky Lynch on the November 29th edition of WWE RAW. Morgan was referencing Lynch's falling out with Charlotte Flair when she then blamed Lynch's contract for why her friends are no longer with the company.

"You're the reason why your friend is gone, just like the reason why your big, fat greedy contract is the reason why my friends are gone," Morgan said. The line has since been removed from WWE's YouTube page.

Morgan was referring to her former teammates in the Riott Squad, Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan. Riott was released earlier this year and now wrestles as Ruby Soho in AEW. Logan was released in 2020 and has since stepped away from wrestling.

Liv Morgan Stands By Her Statement

Does Liv Morgan really believe that Becky Lynch's large contract with WWE is the reason her friends were released? Lynch is the highest-paid female performer in the company. WWE is pulling in record profits, however. Still, Morgan is standing by her statement.

During an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Morgan had the following to say:

"I believe that everyone is allowed to feel the way they feel. Everyone is allowed to react the way they want to react. I knew what I was saying might have been a little bit touchy, just because it's a sensitive topic. But also, like you said, that's my truth, and that's how I felt."

Liv continued to comment on how her friends reacted to the promo.

"My friends reached out to me afterward and let me know how awesome they thought it was and how proud they were. I felt okay with it because I felt, one, I was defending their honor. Two, they loved that I did it, and three, it's just how I felt. Becky has been getting so personal with me and I felt that I needed to bring her back down to reality really quick."

While Becky Lynch is earning a top-tier contract in the company, it would be hard to place blame on her for the rash of WWE releases that have occurred over the last two years. In fact, 2020 was the most profitable year in the history of the company.

Before WWE was releasing talent by the bulk, the opposite complaint was being made of them. Many accused WWE of "hoarding talent" in order to prevent new promotions from acquiring wrestlers. The goal with this approach was to maintain WWE's position as the only major league game in town. With AEW's success essentially ending that claim for WWE now, WWE's approach to such talent-hoarding has reportedly come to an end. The company released 80 Superstars this year to reduce its roster size to something more similar to what they've had in the past. All of this has very little to do with how much Becky Lynch earns per year.

"Yeah, there's some. I'm very close with The IIconics. I'm very close with Lana. There's a few that I was very sad to see go. You see each other more than you see family. Luckily, my family is all with me. But you know I see them more than my actual family. So, when they're gone, that's a huge void," said Lynch.

The Dallas Cowboys are set to have their most important game of the [NFL](https://www.inquisitr.com/category/general/nfl/ season, a clash that could seal their fate and will have dire playoff implications.

They'll host the Arizona Cardinals hoping that the Green Bay Packers don't win their game so they can clinch the top spot in the NFC.

Needless to say, they'll also have to find the way to stop Kyler Murray's two-way expertise and a desperate team that's looking to bounce back after three consecutive losses.

Micah Parsons Says Kyler Murray Is Like A Cheetah

Murray is one of the sneakiest, most skilled dual-threat quarterbacks in the league, and he'll represent a big challenge for the Cowboys' defense, even if DeAndre Hopkins isn't available.

His ability to scramble and break plays is elite, which is why Cowboys rookie Micah Parsons - who's a big animal fan - compared him to a cheetah:

"Adding to the Micah Parsons animal post: he says #Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is a cheetah. Acknowledges cheetahs fastest member of animal kingdom but he would take a pride of Lions over a single Cheetah every day of the week," reported Ed Werder of ESPN.

Parsons Says The Cowboys Are A Lion Pack

Parsons admitted that watching footage of wild animals gets him hyped before games and compared his team's defense with a lion pack that's always hungry.

"We're a lion pack now," Parson said, as quoted by USA Today. _ "There is no more lone lion. It's the pride now. Everybody has got to get a piece of the gazelle. We're just showing that we're staying hungry and that we're not alligators who get paralyzed after we eat…I listen to a lot of motivational videos. I really like animals."_

Parsons Will Be The Key To Stopping Murray

That attitude has made him one of the most impressive rookies in NFL history already, logging a debut season for the ages.

Parsons ranks among the league's leaders in QB hits (3rd), sacks (6th), and pressures (45), according to Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports.

More than that, his versatility makes him perhaps the most unique defensive player in the world:

"What makes Parsons dominant is his ability to play nearly any position on defense. Parsons has played 454 snaps at linebacker, 347 on the defensive line, 25 at cornerback, and one at safety -- making him one of the most versatile players in the NFL. The Cowboys were a top-10 defense in takeaways prior to Parsons, yet he's made them No. 1 in the NFL in that department," added Kerr.

The Rookie Keeps Piling Up Accolades

Unsurprisingly, Parsons earned Defensive Rookie of the Month honors again in December.

He helped the Cowboys get to a 4-0 record in the month by totaling four sacks and 10 QB pressures. To make it even more impressive, he did that while sharing the field with Randy Gregory and DeMarcus Lawrence.

It's still pretty early to tell how his career will pan out, but it's clear that the league has now welcomed a new generational talent and perhaps one of the greatest defenders of all time.

Gymnast Nastia Liukin Promotes Medication In Upside-Down Splits

Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin is showing off her Gold Medal skill-set while upside-down in the splits - oh, and promoting medication at the same time. The five-time Olympic champion and migraine sufferer has joined the list of celebrities promoting prescription-level migraine relief, with a recent Instagram post seeing her giving a nod to what she claims has helped her the most.

Liukin joins the likes of Serena Williams and Khloe Kardashian in repping migraine meds on social media. See Nastia's take below.

Showing Off From Olympics

The video, below, came as a mash-up of Nastia's life, kicking off with her as a baby and being held by her dad, although much of the footage showed her delivering her mind-blowing flexibility while at the 2008 Olympics. The all-around champion from that year also shared a super-cute childhood snap of herself in the splits - Liukin kicked off young, hanging around gyms with her parents who couldn't afford childcare.

Unidentified With Demi Lovato Gives Fans Otherworldly Experience

Demi Lovato takes fans on an otherworldly experience with her new show, Unidentified on Peacock TV. The non-binary artist has become a phenomenon amongst paranormal enthusiasts who discover unusual activities on the screen. Their most recent venture had them serenading a traumatized ghost in an Arizona abandoned brothel, which earned them a standing ovation.

Meeting Carmen

Lovato and their partners – close friend Matthew Scott and investigator Chris Smith - communicate with otherworldly creatures using an EMF detector. A loud screeching sound indicated a positive response, while an eerily quiet sound meant the opposite. So, when Demi asked if the ghost (identified as Carmen) had seen other Extra Terrestrials on the property and got silence in response, they knew something was wrong.

As a trauma survivor, Demi deduced Carmen's silence as a traumatic response. To ease Carmen's discomfort, they asked, "Did you not want to say anything else because the boys were in here?" When Carmen replied with a loud screeching noise indicating "Yes," the Sorry Not Sorry singer asked their partners to excuse themselves.

Sharing Trauma And Sympathizing

Demi Lovato continued by lending a sympathetic ear and explaining that, "She [Carmen] has trauma. That's why she doesn't like men. I have trauma, too, so I feel you, and I get it." Demi serenaded the ghost with an acapella rendition of Skyscraper, her 2011 hit song, to further allay her fears and make her receptive to more questions.

Upon completing their song, Carmen complimented the award-winning singer with a loud screech which many surmised to be a Standing Ovation! Demi appreciated the gesture calling it the "coolest standing I've ovation ever had."

Empowering Women And Other People

It's no shock that Skyscraper received a positive nod from the Extra-Terrestrial being as the lyrics are empowering. The hook says, "you can take everything I have, you can break everything I am… Go on and try to tear me down. I will be rising from the ground." The 2022 Winter Olympic Games are happening in Beijing in February and freestyle skier Eileen Gu, who's poised to become one of the biggest stars of the event, has been ramping up preparations. Even if you're not a sports fan, chances are you've heard of the 18-year-old Chinese-American athlete who, just two years into her career, has soared to the top of the game. But if you've never heard of her, we promise you that's about to change in the coming months.

Stomping Her Way To The Top

The US-born freeski prodigy has been training in Stubai, Austria, to get in top shape for the Olympics, where she will be competing for her mother's homeland China. In November, she made history by becoming the first woman to land a double cork 1440.

Someone asked Gu during a Q&A on Instagram Stories, "What is the feeling when u stomp a huge trick?" and she replied, "Actually the best feeling in the world. Indescribablely [sic] euphoric and addictive. Makes you feel like ur on top of the world and ur life is full of meaning and u never wanna stop."

Her Favorite Cardio

The emerging Olympic superstar, who was born in San Francisco, California to an American father and a Chinese mother, was also asked, "What is your favorite cardio and why?" She answered running, which isn't surprising since Gu was "an avid runner who headlined her high school team's second-place finish at state championships," according to this NBC Sports article.

When asked, "how do you mentally prepare for your competitions," Gu replied, "I treat every contest as 'mental practice' & have read books & listened to podcasts. I honestly love the feeling of pressure & high stakes situations so I try to actively manufacture those environments on practice days. Also just taking note of where my adrenaline levels are on any given day, (esp if I'm doing multiple events) and then trying to increase/decrease them accordingly."

The SATs And Stanford

As if all those achievements weren't impressive enough, Gu has also been admitted to Stanford. When asked, "Did u specifically prepare for the sats?" she answered, "Yes lol I did every single free online practice test, including the Chinese ones was it necessary? Probably not. But sometimes if ya rly want something ya j gotta do everything u can to guarantee it'll happen."

Another person asked, "What do you think got you into stanford?" The athlete hilariously replied, "I wanna say my flawless spectacular wonderful perfect essay on my evolving perception of femininity and power but it was probably my SAT/gpa."

Noah Cyrus is exposing maximum flesh before she hits TV screens with sister Miley Cyrus tonight. The 21-year-old singer and sister to the former Hannah Montana star hit the beaches of Miami on Wednesday, showing off her killer figure and going hot pink in a stringy and very cheeky two-piece.

Noah, who will star on Miley's New Year's Eve Party on December 31, made it a big smiles affair while on shores, and it looks like the paparazzi was following her every move. Check it out below.

Stuns In Bikini On Miami Beach

Scroll for the photos, although Noah did document her look on Instagram, snapping a curvy hips and abs selfie as she rocked her bright swimwear. The Grammy nominee was photographed splashing around the beach while in a super-tiny and patch-on bikini - she went for a string ties bottom and a feminine top with ruffly detailing.

We, alongside her 156 million Instagram followers, have enjoyed the ride to this pivotal moment. Our favorite part of the promo runs was the FASHION, as we couldn't get enough of Miley's body.

Pre-NYE Promo Run Fashion

Devin Booker Opens Up On The Suns' Momentum Ahead Of Showdown With Celtics

No one trusted the Phoenix Suns to be as good as they were last season.

As it usually happens in the NBA, small-market teams don't get the recognition they deserve, so everybody thought it was just they were just another misleading 1st seed.

The Suns proved their doubters wrong by knocking down the Lakers in the first round, sweeping the Nuggets in the second, and getting past the Clippers in the Conference Finals.

Unfortunately, they couldn't finish the job against the Bucks in the NBA Finals.

Booker Says The Suns Are In The Zone

Even so, Monty Williams' team is once again on a roll, sitting at a 27-7 record and boasting the third-best net rating in the league.

The team is having fun and playing at an elite level, but they're still taking it one game at the time:

"We're going through a funny stretch right now. We're figuring things out," Suns guard Devin Booker said, as quoted by Gwinnett Prep Sports. "Just moving on to next game mentality. Same as (Wednesday). You know, we got the win, but now we're focused on Boston."

Devin Booker Makes NBA History In Win Over OKC

Booker continues to blossom as one of the league's finest players.

Thanks to his 38-point explosion against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Kentucky product became the seventh-youngest player in NBA history to top the 10,000-point plateau, trailing LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Tracy McGrady, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

To make it even more impressive, he joins an exclusive club alongside Kevin Durant and LeBron James as the only players to score 10,000+ points and make 00+ three-pointers before turning 26.

All-Star Snub Again?

But even despite Booker's great performances, he's not likely to be an All-Star starter this season, either.

As great as he's been, he's still not as popular as other Western Conference guards, and he's not likely to get enough fan votes to be a starter.

Recently, former NBA player turned analyst Kendrick Perkins predicted his starters for the West, featuring Stephen Curry, Ja Morant, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, and Rudy Gobert.

And while that may not be the final list, it'll take a huge stretch of games from Booker to knock down his peers in All-Star voting.

The Celtics Bring Him Good Memories

Then again, who knows? We're talking about one of the best young scorers in the league and the Suns are finally starting to get some national attention after their success last season.

Also, facing the Celtics will give Booker plenty of good memories, as he established his career-high of 70 points to become the youngest player to top that mark.

That's the third-highest scoring game in NBA history just behind Wilt Chamberlain's 100 and Kobe Bryant's 81, so maybe facing them again will create the perfect storm for him to make his case for All-Star starter.

The New York Knicks have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season. They've failed to live up to the hype after last year's success, and Kemba Walker's addition did little to improve their offense.

Walker was the team's scapegoat and was officially out of the rotation.

Then, injuries and a COVID-19 outbreak forced the team to backpedal and give him another shot. Notably, he's embraced the opportunity and is turning back the clock, proving his doubters that he's far from done in this league.

Tom Thibodeau Says It Wasn't Hard To Bring Kemba Back

Coach Tom Thibodeau claimed that benching Kemba was one of the toughest decisions he had to make, as he had nothing but respect for him as a professional.

Notably, it became even clearer that it was nothing personal when Thibodeau was asked whether bringing him back to the rotation was a difficult decision to make:

"No," the Knicks coach told ESPN.. "Whatever gives us the best chance to win, that's what we have to do. So, you know, that's what we're doing."

Kemba Explains His Early-Season Struggles

Walker is well aware of the fact that he wasn't being aggressive enough, forcing things in the offense and hurting his team's chances:

"I just have a tendency of kind of not wanting to step on toes," Walker said, per ClutchPoints. "I think that's what I did early on. I was here and I wasn't being as aggressive, I think, as I could have been. But I think being out and seeing how the game has been flowing and going put me in a different mindset."

WWE's Top 5 Baffling Releases Of 2021

Toni Storm became the 81st talent released from WWE this year recently. Some of the talents let go are truly baffling as well. Below we count down the top-5 most surprising releases WWE made in 2021. In fact, it's sort of hard to reduce this list to just 5. We've added some honorary mentions below.

The releases of John Morrison, Franky Monet, and Mickie James were head-scratchers. Although since WWE seemed to be releasing talent in their 40s or late 30s more than younger talent, it was perhaps not that surprising that these 3 were let go. It was disappointing to many fans, however. We give their releases an honorary mention here. Same goes for Ember Moon, who is a talented wrestler but didn't survive the cuts made in 2021.

Our #5 most baffling release WWE has made this year goes to Bronson Reed. The 33-year-old Australian seems to have much of what WWE is looking for right now, namely size. You can now see him wrestling as JONAH in Impact Wrestling and NJPW.

#4 Karrion Kross & Scarlett

Karrion Kross and Scarlett's release from WWE this year surprised a lot of people. Kross was a huge star in NXT, even winning the NXT Championship. His look and size made him seem like a can't miss bluechip prospect for the main roster.

After being repackaged a couple of times, Kross wasn't resonating with the RAW audience, however. That may have been due to the weird helmet and "Demolition-style" gimmick he was saddled with.

#3 Keith Lee

WWE seemed as though they saw potential in Keith Lee. They tried a few different things with him, including changing his entrance music and attire, giving him the "Bearcat" nickname, and more.

Lee seems like he has everything the WWE is looking for. He's big and can have excellent wrestling matches. He can cut a promo and connect with the crowd too. Despite all of what he brings to the table, WWE decided to cut ties with him this year.

#2 Bray Wyatt

When WWE released Bray Wyatt on July 31st, 2021, it sent shockwaves throughout the entire industry. WWE had been releasing a lot of talent but it seemed like top-tier wrestlers like Wyatt were untouchable. This is a former Universal and WWE Champion after all.

As for why Wyatt was released, there are reports he was protective of his character, and often not medically cleared to perform. He also had a large contract that WWE apparently felt he wasn't worth.

#1 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman seems like he's got everything WWE is looking for. He's absolutely huge and gets noticed in public. His release was arguably the most baffling of the year. Strowman had signed a new contract with the company, however, and was earning quite a bit. WWE may have felt as though he was past his prime drawing ability and no longer worth what they were paying him.

Still, for someone who had been in main event storylines consistently, a guy who won the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, he seemed too big of a star (literally and figuratively) to be let go. Clearly, WWE was motivated to get some high-priced contracts off their ledger.

They had the second-worst shooting night ever by going 4/42 from beyond the arc, losing to a severely undermanned Los Angeles Clippers squad to continue their season-long woes.

Things aren't looking good for Ime Udoka's team and some wonder whether it's time to pull the plug on this roster.

They can't seem to compete for 48 minutes and have lost plenty of winnable games against injury-riddled rivals this season.

Marcus Morris Makes Fun Of The Celtics

To make things even worst, even some of his rivals took a couple of shots at them and their terrible shooting, with Marcus Morris claiming that he would never miss that many wide-open shots from three-point land:

"Sh+t, when I looked up, I was like 'god damn,'" Marcus Morris said, as quoted by The Athletic. "A lot of them was open too. No knock to them, but shit, I would've never missed that many wide open. That's all I can say."

Terance Mann Couldn't Believe His Eyes

Boston native Terrance Mann was also in awe over the Celtics' inability to convert. Fortunately for them, that allowed them to continue playing zone defense and orchestrate the comeback:

Per Eric Bledsoe, Tyronn Lue's plan was to take the Celtics offense out of rhythm and, even though they did get plenty of great looks, it eventually worked out:

"They got some wide-open looks that they normally hit. They were wide open, some of them, they just missed it," Bledsoe said. "And our game plan coming in was just try to get them off-balance, mix in 2-3 zone, mix in going man. Just kind of throw them off a little bit. So it worked."

What's Next For The Clippers?

Even despite the win, the Clippers are in serious trouble right now.

Besides the struggles with COVID-19, they'll be without Paul George for a big stretch of the season, and they were already missing Kawhi Leonard.

The Clippers have one of the worst offenses in the league (105 points per game, 3rd-fewest in the NBA per Basketball Reference) and struggle to find their rhythm.

They currently sit at the 6th spot in the Western Conference and are in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs, so maybe they'll be quite active before the trade deadline to try and turn things around.

It's been long enough since the Michigan Wolverines brought a National Championship back to Ann Arbor.

But with Jim Harbaugh finally proving that he was worth the patience and the investment, the Wolverines might as well put an end to that drought this year.

Of course, they'll first need to get by the nation's most dominant defense and beat the Georgia Bulldogs, no biggie.

But even if that seems like a long shot and, with oddsmakers giving the Bulldogs a 7.5-point edge in this matchup, we still think the upset is a big possibility. Here's what the Wolverines need to do.

Feed The Backfield

The Wolverines shouldn't change their offensive plan by any means. I mean, even if the Bulldogs are elite at stopping the run (82.2 rushing yards allowed per game, per Covers.); they still have the best running back tandem in the nation.

Hassan Haskins and Blake Corum have rushed for a combined 31 touchdowns this season, averaging a whopping 223.8 rushing yards per game.

The Bulldogs will have to find a way to stop the counter with their DBs and CBs providing plenty of help in the run support, and that may not be sustainable for four quarters.

Make Stetson Bennet Beat You

HC Kirby Smart has once again reaffirmed his support for QB Stetson Bennett.

Even though some claimed that it would be JT Daniels leading the offense after Bennett's massive dud against Alabama, it seems like it'll take an embarrassing performance for Smart to pull the plug on his QB1.

The Wolverines have one of the best defenses in the nation with Aidan Hutchinson at the helm, which is why they need to try and make Bennett a passer and shut down the running game.

12 Personnel

Josh Gattis's offense pretty much lives in 12 personnel. The Wolverines feature two tight ends on most of their sets, providing elite blocking and helping open up space for their dominant running game.

The Bulldogs, albeit one of the best and most dynamic defensive teams in the nation, are quite shorthanded at the outside linebacker position, and that could be a huge issue against personnel 12, especially when you're facing one of the most explosive running back duos in recent times.

Trust Cade McNamara

We've already talked long enough about the Wolverines' elite passing game but Cade McNamara should also get his flowers.

McNamara isn't likely to show you with athleticism or flashy plays, nor he'll be the next NFL star, yet he's far from just a game manager.

McNamara has thrown for 928 yards with 6 touchdowns against 3 interceptions against top-25 teams this season, completing over 66% of his attempts.

The Bulldogs will most likely try and force him to make plays but he's shown great ability to take care of the football, be efficient, and not force throws.

Despite Success Playing LeBron James At Center, LA Lakers Still Need The Old Anthony Davis

Despite making major roster improvements last summer, the Los Angeles Lakers are noticeably struggling in the 2021-22 NBA season. As of now, they have lost six of their last 10 games, sitting in the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference with a 17-19 record. Aside from Russell Westbrook's failure to live up to expectations as the team's third star, some people blame the Lakers' current struggle on Anthony Davis' underwhelming performance and inability to remain healthy.

With Davis out with an injury, the Lakers recently decided to make an experiment using LeBron James as their starting center.

LeBron James Plays Center Against Rockets

The decision to use James as their starting center was made by David Fizdale, who is currently the Lakers' acting head coach while Frank Vogel is in the league's COVID protocol. With Davis on the sideline and Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan underperforming, Fizdale thought of utilizing James as their man in the middle.

Fizdale's strategy proved to be effective as it helped them defeat Houston Rockets and end their five-game losing streak. In 39 minutes of action as the Lakers' starting center against the Rockets, James posted 32 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, two blocks, and one steal while shooting 57.9 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

LeBron James Takes Pride In Ability To Play Multiple Positions

Being able to efficiently play as the Lakers' starting center against the Rockets only showed why James deserves to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time. James said that he took pride in his ability to play five positions.

"I think I've taken pride over the course of my career in being able to play five positions," James said, via ESPN. "Or at least know all five positions. Knowing the commands. So tonight ... called for me to start at center and I just tried to be in a hell of a lot of plays."

Lakers Still Need Anthony Davis

However, their success playing James at the center doesn't make Davis expendable in Los Angeles. To have a realistic chance of fully dominating the loaded Western Conference and capturing the Larry O'Brien Trophy this season, the Lakers still need a healthy Davis on the floor. However, aside from recovering from an injury, Bob Garcia of Sportscasting believes that Davis would need to bring back his old self to help the Lakers reclaim their throne.

Garcia thinks that as soon as he returns to the court, Davis should find a way to address his "lack of consistent offensive assertiveness." Once the old Davis shows up, the Lakers are expected to regain their status as a legitimate title contender this season.

Anthony Davis Trade Rumors

Davis' performance when he returns from his injury won't only be vital for the Lakers, but it could also determine his future in Los Angeles. If he manages to bring back his old self, Davis will likely remain as the player who will lead the Lakers in the post-LeBron era. However, if he won't show a major improvement, there's a huge possibility for the Lakers to reevaluate his future with the team.

If they realize things are no longer working out for him and James, the Lakers could explore trading Davis to another team.
