Singani s loved by some of the country's top mixologists for its versatility.  In terrain so high most gringos would either pass out or feel as though they had barbed wire wrapped around their heads, the white Muscat of Alexandria grapes are grown, harvested, and distilled into Singani 63, the national drink of Bolivia. It's been this way since 1530 when Spanish missionaries brought grapevines to the Bolivian Andes so they could party on the road.

Nearly half a millennium later Singani 63 would be given Domain of Origin AND Geographical Indication status. And when Steven Soderbergh got turned on to Singani 63 while making the movie Che, he decided he would bring it to the U.S. even if it meant he might end up drinking his entire inventory himself.

With a career so celebrated, Soderbergh has just about seen and experienced it all, which is why his passion to bring Singani 63 to the masses means you should probably get your hands on this must-have as a perfect way to toast to the holidays.

Broadway Songwriter Stephen Sondheim Dead at 91

Posted: 26 Nov 2021 02:56 PM PST

It's never easy to say goodbye. Larry King, Christopher Plummer and Cecily Tyson are among the celebrities who died in 2021, leaving those in their wake heartbroken.

Dustin Diamond died on February 1 at age 44 after a battle with stage IV small cell carcinoma. "He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago. In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution," his rep told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. "Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful."

The actor's Saved by the Bell costars paid tribute to him after news of his death. "I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dustin Diamond, a true comedic genius. My sincere condolences to his family and friends," Mark-Paul Gosselaar told Us in a statement. "Looking back at our time working together, I will miss those raw, brilliant sparks that only he was able to produce. A pie in your face, my comrade."

Mario Lopez, meanwhile, wrote via Instagram: "Dustin, you will be missed my man. The fragility of this life is something never to be taken for granted. Prayers for your family will continue on."

Tiffani Thiessen echoed Lopez's sentiments in an Instagram post of her own. "I am deeply saddened by the news of my old co-star @realdustindiamond passing," she captioned a photo of Diamond. "Life is extremely fragile and it's something we should never take for granted. God speed Dustin."

Later that month, fans lost an iconic figure in Christopher Plummer, who died at age 91. "Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humor and the music of words," his longtime manager said in a statement to Us on February 5. "He was a National Treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots. Through his art and humanity, he touched all of our hearts and his legendary life will endure for all generations to come. He will forever be with us."

The Oscar winner's Sound of Music costar Julie Andrews honored him after his death. "The world has lost a consummate actor today. And I have lost a cherished friend," the actress told Us in a statement. "I treasure the memories of our work together and all the humor and fun we shared through the years. My heart and condolences go out to his lovely wife Elaine, and his daughter Amanda."

John Hersey: Katie Thurston Didn’t Cheat on Blake Moynes With Me

Posted: 26 Nov 2021 02:43 PM PST

Not how it looks? John Hersey addressed rumors about his relationship with Katie Thurston, which she confirmed just weeks after announcing her split from fiancé Blake Moynes.

Katie Thurston and John Hersey's Timeline

The Bachelorette alum, 27, shared a lengthy letter via Reddit on Friday, November 26, noting that it was "the first and likely only time" he would ever speak directly to the fans on the thread. He began by thanking those who have supported him and Thurston, 30, noting that not all the comments have been positive.

While he agreed that everyone should be allowed to voice their opinions, he divulged in the post that it "hurts" him to see "so many of you build assumptions and throw around accusations" about their new romance.

"Katie and I developed an incredible and deep friendship over the last half year or so. The circumstances by which this friendship formed was a series of crazy, random and coincidental events, that I'm sure you will all hear about at a later time," Hersey wrote. "My point for now is that we were ALWAYS platonic. Even during my short stint on the season, we never had a chance to foster anything romantic (read as: John blew his chance and left the next day hahaha). The boundaries of our friendship with respect to her ongoing relationship never even required addressing, because it was never a thought in our minds that we would ever be anything more."

The bartender then stressed how seriously he and Thurston took her engagement to Moynes, 31. "You guys — she was engaged. It is apparent that many of you misjudge how both her and I view that commitment," he continued. "Neither Katie nor I would ever cheat, push someone to cheat or be involved in cheating. It is not in our nature. It is not acceptable. It is not OK. On second thought, maybe this message deserves its own paragraph: There was no wrongdoing prior to the end of their engagement."

Hersey acknowledged the rapid pace at which he and the former bank marketing manager moved after her breakup. "Furthermore, I understand that the timeline seems fast and messy. But I urge you to put yourselves in our shoes," he shared. "Once Katie and I realized there was a romantic connection that we were interested in exploring, we were not starting from scratch; we were building off of the foundation of a close friendship through which we had already gotten to know each other so well. The speed at which I fell for this incredible, nurturing and genuinely caring human being was honestly terrifying. I was scared. But every step of the way felt so right."

The California native pointed out that he and Thurston knew "the optics" would be "the only difficult part" of their relationship.

"To those of you that suggest we should have waited — I understand. I hear you," he elaborated. "But try to understand what it's like for me, a regular guy, falling helplessly for his best friend, not being able to take her out for dinner because photos would likely leak and everybody would assume we were trying to foster some sort of secret and scandalous relationship haha. Our decision to come out publicly was a decision to pursue happiness in the way we wanted."

Hersey concluded by apologizing to fans who "have felt emotionally triggered by how our actions have been perceived." He added: "I'm sorry if it looked as though either of us were taking advantage of anyone's trust. I have tried to respond directly to those individuals that were affected."

Thurston and Moynes got engaged during the season 17 finale of The Bachelorette, which aired in August. They announced their split on October 25 after six months together. The Washington native revealed her romance with Hersey — whom she sent home during week two of the show but became friends with after filming — on Tuesday, November 23.

The wildlife manager reacted to the news during the Wednesday, November 24, episode of the "Talking It Out With Bachelor Nation" podcast. "I really don't think there was any physical cheating there, but there [was] clearly emotional [cheating] for it to transition so quickly as it did," Moynes said, noting that his ex did not give him any warning that she was dating Hersey before sharing it publicly. "I feel stupid and foolish for allowing it to happen, to some degree."

Chrissy Teigen’s Sobriety Journey: Everything She’s Said About Getting Clean

Posted: 26 Nov 2021 02:01 PM PST

Putting in the work. Chrissy Teigen has been vocal about her ups and downs while dealing with her sobriety, beginning in 2017 when she first cut out alcohol — and again in 2020 when she recommitted to being sober.

The Cravings: All Together author told Cosmopolitan in August 2017 that she was "point blank, just drinking too much" when she chose to ditch alcohol.

"Nobody really brought it up to me," Teigen explained at the time, noting that she has a history of alcohol abuse in her family. "They just assumed that it was OK because I always felt OK the next morning [after drinking a lot]. I knew in my heart it wasn't right."

The Utah native, who is married to John Legend, recalled her excess drinking making her become "very short with people" from time to time.

"People think it's cutesy and fun to go on these boozy brunches, but there's more to it. I've never once been like, 'I'm sure glad I had that boozy brunch!'" she added, noting that she decided to stop drinking after having a "really, really wonderful" time in Bali while completely sober.

In the years that followed, Teigen started to drink again, but after receiving a book on her 35th birthday in November 2020 titled Quit Like a Woman, she recommitted to a sober life.

The following month, the mother of two, who shares daughter Luna and son Miles, with Legend, confirmed that she was four weeks sober.

Since then, Teigen has celebrated different milestones on her journey, including hitting her 50 days sober marker in September 2021.

"I still dunno if I'll never drink again but I do know it no longer serves me in ANY way," she wrote via Instagram at the time. "I don't get more fun, I don't dance, I don't get relaxed. I get sick, fall asleep and wake up sick, having missed what was probably a fun night."

Two months later, the businesswoman reflected on Thanksgivings past while celebrating her first holiday sober.

"I used to start my thanksgiving prep with a shot of cafe patron (COFFEE TEQUILA) and I'd pretty much take another every couple of hours," she wrote via Instagram in November 2021, adding that she finally got to "enjoy" watching her family have fun while cooking and feasting.

Scroll down to see what Teigen has said regarding her sobriety journey over the years:

Cutting Back
“I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine,” Teigen told Cosmopolitan in August 2017, noting that she needed to reduce her alcohol intake. “Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show. And then I felt bad for making kind of an ass of myself to people that I really respected.” The model explained that she made the choice herself, revealing there is a history of alcohol abuse in her family. “I used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober,” she said. “But now I get it. I don’t want to be that person. … I have to fix myself.” Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock
4 Weeks Sober
The Chrissy’s Court star revealed in December 2020 that she was again sober. After sharing a goofy video of herself dancing in a swimsuit via Instagram, one fan jokingly commented, “I need whatever drugs you’re on!!” Teigen replied, “4 weeks sober,” alongside a string of heart emojis and praying hands emojis. The Book That Inspired the Change
The mother of two credited writer Holly Whitaker’s book, Quit Like a Woman, for inspiring her to make a change in her life. She noted via her Instagram Story in December 2020 that she received the book on her 35th birthday one month prior, which is when everything clicked. “I got this book from my doctor and friend,” she wrote. “I was done with making an ass of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like s--t by 6, not being able to sleep.” Teigen continued: “I have been sober ever since. And even if you can’t see yourself doing or just plain don’t want to, it’s still an incredible read.” Janet Mayer/startraksphoto.com
The Loss of Her Son Jack
Teigen revealed in February 2021 that the September 2020 loss of her son Jack following pregnancy complications brought clarity to other aspects of her life. “Being Thai and being raised in a house that was very open about loss, I think it was really helpful because … it was a transformative thing for me,” the Cravings author told Ellen DeGeneres at the time. “In a way, [my late son, Jack], really saved me. I don’t think I would have discovered therapy and then sobriety and this path of really feeling good about myself and feeling like a new person.” Andrew H. Walker/Shutterstock
The Thrill of Italy
The Lip Sync Battle commentator detailed her first “sober trip” to Italy in August 2021. “We haven’t done something like this for soooo long, it made us feel young again!” she wrote via Instagram after the whirlwind getaway before thanking Unicef Italia and Luisaviaroma for having her and Legend and giving Zuhair Murad, Lorraine Schwartz and Jimmy Choo a shout-out for styling her for the event. “But really thanks for making me feel so pretty and helping me along in my quest to have my first sober Italian getaway,” Teigen continued. “I hate the word sober by the way, it’s so rehab/medical. Anyhow, honestly it was so so trippy being sober at something you typically would have been wasted at. That paired with all the crazy hot young models and club dudes and seeing your young self over and over, oh man it was crazy.” She concluded: “We had so much fun. I didn’t do anything I’d regret and I’m glad I’ll get to remember it all!!” Courtesy of Chrissy Teigen/Instagram
50-Day Marker
“Today is my 50-day sobriety streak,” she wrote via Instagram in September 2021. “It should be nearly a year but I had a few (wine) hiccups in the road. This is my longest streak yet!” Andrew H. Walker/Shutterstock
Thanksgiving High
“The first time I have ever been able to enjoy everyone enjoying dinner!!” Teigen wrote via Instagram in November 2021 alongside photos of her family’s Thanksgiving feast. “I didn’t even make any crucial recipe errors this year! toot toot goes the horn! anyhoo hope you had a beautiful holiday. grateful for you and your love 💗.” Courtesy of Chrissy Teigen/Instagram

NBA Rumors: Lakers Could Acquire Three Players In Proposed Russell Westbrook-To-Pelicans Blockbuster

Posted: 25 Nov 2021 10:55 PM PST

The Los Angeles Lakers traded for All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook last summer with the hope that he could boost their chances of fully dominating the Western Conference and winning the NBA championship title. Unfortunately, as of now, Westbrook is yet to live up to expectations as the Lakers' third star and is noticeably struggling to make himself fit alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

If he fails to show improvement with his performance and chemistry with James and Davis, there's a growing belief around the league that the Lakers may consider moving Westbrook before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

Russell Westbrook To New Orleans Pelicans

Westbrook may be considered an odd fit in Los Angeles but once he becomes officially available on the trade block, he's expected to receive strong interest from teams that are in dire need of additional star power on their roster. According to Lee Tran of Fadeaway World, one of the potential suitors of Westbrook before the 2022 NBA trade deadline is the New Orleans Pelicans.

Having the second-worst record in the Western Conference, the Pelicans obviously need help to have a realistic chance of ending their playoff drought this season. Though they aren't a legitimate title contender, they should strongly consider upgrading their roster if they want to keep Zion Williamson happy in New Orleans.

Proposed Lakers-Pelicans Trade Centered On Russell Westbrook

The Pelicans won't need to pay the king's ransom to acquire Westbrook, but they would still need to come up with an intriguing offer to convince the Lakers to make a deal. In the proposed trade scenario by Fadeaway World, the Pelicans would be sending a trade package that includes Jonas Valanciunas, Devonte' Graham, and Tomas Satoransky to the Lakers in exchange for Westbrook. If the trade becomes a reality, it would help both teams in filling up the needs to improve on their roster.

However, before they could push through with the deal, they would need to wait until mid-December since Graham just signed a new contract in the 2021 NBA free agency.

Pelicans Form 'Big 3' With Zion Williamson & Brandon Ingram

Trading for Westbrook definitely comes with a huge risk for the Pelicans. If things won't go well, his massive salary would affect their salary cap flexibility until the 2022-23 NBA season. However, if he could mesh well with Ingram and Williamson, Westbrook could help the Pelicans create a "Big Three" that could possibly change their fate in the league.

Westbrook's potential arrival in New Orleans would boost their performance on the offensive end of the floor. He would give them a walking triple-double machine. This season, the 33-year-old point guard is averaging 20.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 8.6 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Lakers Turn Russell Westbrook Into Three Solid Role Players

Though they wouldn't replace him with an All-Star, the proposed blockbuster deal with the Pelicans would bring three solid role players to the Lakers. By unloading Westbrook and his massive salary to New Orleans, the Lakers would be acquiring a dominant, starting-caliber center in Valanciunas, a young point guard in Graham, and a veteran playmaker in Satoransky.

Having Valanciunas would enable Coach Frank Vogel to move Davis to the starting power forward position where he's more comfortable playing. Graham may not be as good as Westbrook, but he's the type of point guard who can excel in an off-ball capacity, making him an ideal fit alongside James.

NBA Rumors: Proposed Sixers-Kings-Pelicans Blockbuster Trade Would Send Brandon Ingram To Philadelphia

Posted: 25 Nov 2021 10:31 PM PST

As the 2021-22 NBA season goes deeper, rumors surrounding Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons continue to heat up. The Sixers may have made strong efforts to convince Simmons to stay but with their worsening relationship, most people believe that his departure from the City of Brotherly Love is inevitable.

However, though they are actively listening to trade offers, the Sixers won't move Simmons just for the sake of getting him out of Philadelphia. In any potential deal involving their disgruntled superstar, the Sixers have informed every interested team that they want another All-Star caliber player in return.

Sixers Swap Ben Simmons For Brandon Ingram In Hypothetical Blockbuster

One of the potential trade targets for the Sixers in the deal involving Simmons is All-Star small forward Brandon Ingram of the New Orleans Pelicans. In a recent article, Brett Siegel of NBA Analysis Network came up with a hypothetical three-team blockbuster trade idea that would allow the Sixers to swap Simmons for Ingram before the 2022 NBA trade deadline.

In the proposed trade scenario, the Sixers would get Ingram and Garrett Temple, the Pelicans would receive Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III, a 2022 first-round pick, and a 2024 first-round pick, and the Sacramento Kings would land Simmons.

Sixers Add A Young Star

Trading Simmons to acquire Ingram would make a lot of sense for the Sixers. Though he's not on the same level as Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard, Ingram would still be a much better fit with Joel Embiid than Simmons. In Ingram, the Sixers would be receiving another prolific scorer, a great on-court facilitator, and a decent rebounder and perimeter defender.

This season, Ingram is averaging 21.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Ben Simmons Get A Fresh Start In Sacramento

Meanwhile, it wouldn't be surprising if the Kings decide to push through with the trade. The Kings have been rumored to be interested in acquiring Simmons since the 2021 NBA offseason. Simmons would give the Kings another franchise cornerstone alongside De'Aaron Fox who would help them return to the playoffs and end their years of title drought.

Though it wouldn't put him closer to winning his first NBA championship title, the suggested deal would be also beneficial for Simmons. Having a fresh start in Sacramento could help regain his confidence and return to the right path to becoming a legitimate superstar in the league.

Does The Trade Make Sense For The Pelicans?

As Siegel noted, the proposed three-way blockbuster trade idea would only make sense for the Pelicans if Ingram demands a trade from New Orleans. Aside from adding two more future draft assets to their collection, the Pelicans would also be acquiring a familiar face in Hield and a young and promising big man that they could develop in Bagley III.

"Buddy Hield started his career in New Orleans and coming back could be beneficial for both parties given his need for a fresh start and the Pelicans need for more perimeter shooting," Siegel wrote. "As for Marvin Bagley III, he could fit in well next to Zion Williamson and Jonas Valanciunas in the Pelicans' frontcourt and could be a player they are willing to invest in should Bagley be willing to become a 'Sixth-Man' type of player in the frontcourt."

NBA Rumors: Proposed Warriors-Sixers Trade Would Pair Ben Simmons With Draymond Green In Golden State

Posted: 25 Nov 2021 09:56 PM PST

When the 2021 NBA offseason started, rumors have been swirling that the Golden State Warriors were targeting a superstar on the trade market. Though they still have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, there were speculations that the Warriors still want to add a fourth superstar that would help them reclaim their throne and revive their dynasty in the 2021-22 NBA season.

In the past months, the Warriors have already been linked to numerous big names on the trading block, including All-Star point guard Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Potential Trade Between Warriors & Sixers

In a recent article, Corey Rausch of Fansided's Hoops Habit suggested a fresh trade idea that would enable the Warriors to acquire Simmons from the Sixers before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. In the proposed trade scenario, the Warriors would be sending a package that includes Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody to the Sixers in exchange for Simmons.

Though a straight Simmons-Wiggins swap would work financially, the Warriors would need to add a young player like Moody to convince the Sixers to engage in a blockbuster deal.

Warriors Pair Draymond Green With Ben Simmons

There would definitely be some questions regarding Simmons' fit in Golden State, especially with the presence of a player with a similar skill set in Green. However, Rausch believes that pairing Simmons with Green would make the Warriors a more dangerous team on both ends of the floor this season.

"However, the thought of employing a defense and passing game led by Draymond Green and Ben Simmons would be a thing of nightmares for the rest of the league," Rausch wrote. "Simmons is among the best players in the world at creating three-point shots for others. Doing that for the likes of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole would lead to some of the most aesthetically pleasing basketball imaginable."

Warriors Add A Solid Two-Way Player

Simmons would be an interesting addition to the Warriors. Though he remains hesitant to shoot the ball from beyond the arc, he's still a solid two-way contributor in the league. He would give the Warriors a very reliable third-scoring option behind Curry and Thompson, as well as a great rebounder, on-court facilitator, and lockdown defender.

Last season, Simmons averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting 55.7 percent from the field, per ESPN. Aside from making them a more competitive team, he could also serve as a potential bridge to a new era of Warriors' basketball when Curry retires.

Trade Benefits Ben Simmons & Sixers

Parting ways before the 2022 NBA trade deadline would benefit both Simmons and the Sixers. In the proposed blockbuster deal, Simmons would be given the opportunity to play for a California team and a realistic chance of winning his first NBA championship title in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Meanwhile, by sending Simmons to Golden State, the Sixers would be acquiring Embiid's former Kansas teammate, Wiggins, and a talented prospect in Moody. Wiggins may not be a legitimate star but with his ability to shoot the ball from the three-point range, he could form a better on-court pairing with Embiid than Simmons.

NBA Rumors: Ben Simmons Could Be Traded To Mavericks For Tim Hardaway Jr. & Dwight Powell In Proposed Trade

Posted: 25 Nov 2021 09:52 PM PST

The Dallas Mavericks are expected to be one of the most active teams on the market before the 2022 NBA trade deadline. They may currently hold the fourth-best record in the Western Conference, but most people believe that they need to add more star power around Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis to have a realistic chance of reaching the NBA Finals and capturing the Larry O'Brien Trophy in the 2021-22 NBA season.

In the past months, the Mavericks have already been linked to several big names who are rumored to be available on the trading block.

Potential Trade Deadline Target For Mavericks - Ben Simmons

One of the players that the Mavericks could target before the 2022 NBA trade deadline is All-Star point guard Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers. In a recent article, Corey Rausch of Fansided's Hoops Habit created a list of trades involving the disgruntled Sixers' superstar. In the potential deal that would send Simmons to Dallas, Rausch suggested that the Mavericks could offer a trade package that includes Tim Hardaway Jr. and Dwight Powell to the Sixers.

If the trade would push through, it would help both the Mavericks and the Sixers in filling up the needs to improve on their roster.

Ben Simmons' On-Court Impact On Mavericks

Simmons would be an intriguing addition to the Mavericks as he would be giving them another young star who perfectly fits the timeline of Doncic. Despite his shooting woes, Simmons remains a solid two-way contributor in the league. He can score, rebound the ball, make plays for his teammates, and defend the opposing team's best player.

Last season, the 25-year-old point guard averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting 55.7 percent from the field, according to ESPN.w

Ben Simmons' Fit With Luka Doncic & Kristaps Porzingis

It would still take time for Simmons to familiarize himself with the Mavericks' system but once he meshes well with Doncic and Porzingis, it would undoubtedly make them a more competitive team in the 2021-22 NBA season. The potential arrival of Simmons would help the Mavericks ease the loads on Doncic's shoulders in terms of playmaking, ballhandling, and scoring.

Also, Rausch believes that having Simmons as their primary playmaker would "create an abundance of open looks" for Porzingis on the perimeter.

Why The Sixers Would Make The Trade

Though it wouldn't give them an All-Star in return, the proposed trade would also be worth exploring for the Sixers. Aside from ending the drama surrounding Simmons, it would enable them to add a veteran sharpshooter in Hardaway Jr. and an elite defender in Powell.

"For the Sixers, Tim Hardaway Jr. would bring a dynamic scorer into the fold. Much like when they nabbed Seth Curry from the Mavericks, Hardaway would immediately make an impact," Rausch wrote. "He has shot 38.3 percent from distance over four seasons with the Mavericks and has the ability to take over games. Dwight Powell is the current scapegoat for many Mavericks fans, but he would add a solid energy big to the bench for the Sixers."

Gigi Hadid might be at the center of drama alleging baby daddy Zay Malik physically assaulted her mother, but the supermodel hasn't been hiding under the duvet. Fresh photos are showing the former Victoria's Secret Angel out and about - ear-marking her A-Lister status this month, Gigi rocked celebrity-adored brand Versace as she went bold in a bright red jumpsuit.

Gigi, 26, is said to have split from former One Direction singer Zayn. Her photos came as a solo outing. Check them out below.

Stepping Out In Versace Look

Gigi, meanwhile, was spotted in the Big Apple and going unzipped in a faux leather and shiny red jumpsuit, one she wore with a black top underneath and to coordinate black booties and a matching face mask and beanie.

Hadid showcased her tiny waist, but the famous figure was largely covered-up. Snaps showed her heading towards a parked vehicle.

The mom to baby Khai, said to be "solely focused" on her baby amid her split, has asked for "privacy" at this time - her rep to People made it clear this month that prying eyes aren't welcomed.

Malik, meanwhile, has taken to Twitter to deny accusations, stating: "This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been 'leaked' to the press." More after the photos.

Zayn Looking To 'Heal'

The former X Factor contestant continued:

"I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly, I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves."

Gigi has been active on social media, but the model and sister to Bella Hadid has largely stayed quiet as media outlets continue their frenzied coverage of the story. Gigi's latest post sees her in a cropped white vest and pants for a new H&M promo. More after the shot.

‘Squid Game’ Smuggler Sentenced To Death In North Korea

Posted: 25 Nov 2021 02:23 PM PST

South Korean series Squid Game debuted on Netflix in September, quickly becoming one of the most popular shows of all time.

The tense survival drama resonated with viewers around the world, receiving acclaim from critics and audiences alike, with many describing it as the best non-American show in history.

But Squid Game is not popular just in the west, it allegedly has a huge audience in North Korea, or the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), where it is being smuggled and viewed by dissidents.

Death Sentence

As reported by The New York Post, an individual who smuggled copies of Squid Game into North Korea has been sentenced to death.

The individual reportedly smuggled copies of the mega-popular series from China, on USB drives and SIM cards. North Korean authorities caught a number of students watching the series, and then went after the smuggler.

One of the students received a life sentence, while six others have been sentenced to five years of hard labor. Teachers and administrators at the school in question were either fired or sentenced to hard labor.

'Squid Game' In North Korea

Squid Game has allegedly become very popular in North Korea, especially in the capital city of Pyongyang.

"Squid Game has been able to enter the country on memory storage devices such as USB flash drives and SD cards, which are smuggled in by ship, and then make their way inland, " a Pyongsong resident said.

"They say that the content is similar to the lives of Pyongyang officials who fight in the foreign currency market as if it is a fight for life and death," the resident continued.

North Korean Reality

According to a North Korean law enforcement official, Squid Game is popular because it "parallels" the reality of living under Kim Jong Un's dictatorship, where those who make too much money "could be executed" at any moment.

"It not only resonates with the rich people, but also with Pyongyang's youth because they are drawn to the unusually violent scenes," the law enforcement source said.

The person explained that young people in North Korea watch Squid Game "secretly... under their blankets at night on their portable media players."

Elimination Of Reactionary Thought And Culture

Last year, Kim Jong Un's government passed a law on the "Elimination Of Reactionary Thought And Culture." The law carries a maximum penalty of death for possession, distribution, or watching of South Korean media.

"Law enforcement is not playing around with the new law, and they are fiercely trying to root out every instance of capitalist culture," a North Korean source explained.

"But times are tough due to the pandemic, so even the police are struggling to make ends meet. Putting a few bucks in their pocket will make them go away if you get caught watching South Korean media," the source added.
